Eleyne-Mari Sharp (pronounced “Elaine Marie”) is the author of the Little Blessing visionary fiction series, as well as Mad About Hue: A Memoir in Living Color and Write Awake: A Conscious Path to Creativity and Change.

A former Air Force brat, she has worked as a professional writer/copywriter/editor for television shows, advertising agencies, publishing companies, film festivals, and screenwriting conferences.

Eleyne-Mari writes every day in her New England story bubble, inspired by the ocean, her retired yacht captain husband, and their mischievous little furbabies.

But if I need to write a blog post, for example, and if I have no idea what the topic is going to be, I'll just get up and do something.

I'll cook, write, sing, and sometimes clean (if my husband's lucky.) Honestly, some of my best ideas have happened while taking a shower! Unfortunately, that's the only place I can't keep a notebook, so I'll rush out of there to jot down my idea. I hate losing ideas.

By the time I began writing Moonwater Beach (Book Three in the Little Blessing series), I had outlined the entire town from a seagull’s perspective, creating categories like Arts, Beaches, Celebrations, Culture, Education, Farms, Food, Landmarks, Restaurants, Retail, and so forth.

I had a blast being "the architect of Little Blessing" and it has been a joy to live there.(less)

Tune Out to Tune In

It seems I’m always meditating these days. I’m triggered by anything violent, unjust or untrue. As you know, there’s just too much of it. Being human, I might react with a negative thought or outburst. (Not good for the blood pressure.) Being a writer, I can share my anguish with my fictional characters and teach them how to cope. Sometimes we learn together. In my book, Inn Lak’ech: A Journey to Read more of this blog post »

I'm sorry, I can't. While I understand the psycho-social value of horror, my work is to bring out the beauty of the soul, not to feed the imagination with fearful imagery.

“There is no energy greater than the power of Love. Once I finally embraced this concept, I realized that the path to Ascension always begins with the heart, and the color Pink.”
Eleyne-Mari Sharp, Mad About Hue: A Memoir in Living Color

“It never occurred to him that the faded news clipping might actually be a treasured memento of the plump, middle-aged woman who stood glaring before him, looking ever-so-silly in her huge, pink-tinted glasses, dangly starfish earrings and graying, strawberry-gold hair stuffed under an outlandish, floppy pink hat.”
Eleyne-Mari Sharp, Inn Lak'ech

“Two days after the tragic events of 9/11, I found myself anxious, upset, and desperately in need of the color green.”
Eleyne-Mari Sharp, Mad About Hue: A Memoir in Living Color

“It is important to remember that we all have magic inside us!”
jk rowling

“This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“As a child, I was told by my parents and teachers that if I didn't have what I wanted, I had to either accept the situation or create something. So I was always creating things, like backyard carnivals and an "automated" lemonade stand from an empty refrigerator box. Or a four-tunnel tent in the living room that I had made from blankets and chairs. I believe that "necessity is the mother of invention" and I practice it all the time.”
Eleyne-Mari Sharp

“I own hundreds of self-help and spiritual books and lately I’m only drawn to a few of them. I am still awakening to what Life is truly all about, but even though there are spiritual authors and teachers like Louise Hay or Wayne Dyer or the Dalai Lama whom I still admire—I believe that all the answers I seek, everything I need to know is right here inside of me. So I meditate—which is about listening—and then I find the answers.”

“For art, she had thumbtacked hundreds of autumn leaves on one of the cracked walls.”
