Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, M. E. (Michele) May now lives near Chicago with her husband, Paul. She has two children, four grandsons, three great grandsons, and two great granddaughters.

She studied Social and Behavioral Sciences at Indiana University, discovering what influences human behavior and finding her talent for writing.

Michele created the Circle City Mystery Series to showcase her hometown as well as give her readers great crime thrillers.

The first novel in the series, Perfidy, released in November 2012, won the 2013 Lovey Award for Best First Novel. This was followed by Inconspicuous (July 2013); Ensconced (Mar 2014); Purged (Nov 2014); and Unscrupulous (2015).

It's nice to read a fantasy without pages and pages (sometimes several consecutive chapters ) of explicit sexual encounters. This series author gives more depth to his characters, and provides a complex and exciting story. ...more

I would recommend that you read this story instead of listening to the audiobook. There is a lot of going back and forth and it was really hard to keep up with the time periods and the characters. It was a very good story, so I would recommend it.
