David Lowry served as pastor of St. Thomas Lutheran Church on Chicago's southside for over twenty-eight years, a congregation with a strong outreach to children in crisis, a ministry to recovering addicts, and active in addressing issues of social justice. He has been involved in developing lay leaders for southside congregations through diaconal and biblical training programs. He received a Ph.D. in theology from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
