The teacher wanted something that was realistic instead of "genre," and I had wanted to work on an apocalyptic story. I have always been interested in anything medical, so I started a story about a girl being diagnosed with leukemia. I never expected to become so involved with it, but once I started I had to keep writing. The next thing I knew, I had finished my first book. :)(less)

Music Monday: Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran

Mondays are hard, so let’s conquer them with music!
I love music; I listen to music in the car, at work, and it is also part of my writing process. Sometimes a scene may be inspired by a song or I find songs that relate to what I have written; either way I always have a separate playlist for each project I’m working on in addition to a master playlist of all the songs I come across Read more of this blog post »

“There is a flaw to your plan.” A sly grin crept onto his face once again. My eyebrow arched at him questioningly.
“I live across the street,” he told me; and, without another word, he turned around toward his house and I realized what he meant. I told my problems to a stranger that I would probably see again.”
