I am a historical fiction writer and 17th Century enthusiast, with a particular interest in the English Civil War (ECW). I blog about English history and storytelling at my blog, the 17th Century Enthusiast, and I'm a co-editor of the English Historical Fiction Authors blog site.

My debut novel, Traitor’s Knot, a romantic tale of adventure set during the English Civil War. Traitor’s Knot is the first in a series of adventures spanning from the ECW to the Restoration and is now available from Endeavour Media.

D’Artagnan was a rash, proud Gascon, which opened up wonderful swashbuckling opportunities, but the central core of his personality was his honour. It kept him fixed and on course, and once pledged to someone or a course of action, he was irresolute. While his honour wasn’t a source of internal conflict in the 3M, it really became so in the sequel, The Man in the Iron Mask, where D’Artagnan found himself caught between his pledge to serve the King and his pledge to support his friends. This idea of conflicted honour is what I had in mind for my hero, James, in Traitor’s Knot. There, he had to decide between his pledge to the King and his love and obligation to the woman he loved. Discover The Versailles Formula: A Historical Thriller to Anticipate

My friend Nancy Bilyeau has a new historical thriller coming out this spring called THE VERSAILLES FORMULA. This is the third in Nancy’s 18th-century Genevieve Planché series, but it can be read alone.

Check out this beautiful cover!

ABOUT THE VERSAILLES FORMULA:

Genevieve craved purpose. She found danger. Now, there may be no turning back.

Genevieve Sturbridge was never meant for a quiet lif

I’m in the minority given the GR award and maybe it wasn’t the right time for me to read this but I lost interest about half way in. The quest for the book had too many plot holes that I couldn’t get past. I also couldn’t connect with the characters.

I loved this so much that I’m queuing up book 2 and sourcing out his other series. The mystery had me guessing and it was tightly plotted. Loved both Ana and Din (especially Ana with her quirkiness). Can’t wait to read more with these characters.

4.25. I really enjoyed this third instalment and time spent in Wendel's kingdom. One of the elements of the ending didn't quite nail it for me, but I suspect that it's set up for a 4th instalment, which I'm here for. ...more
