I'm a journalist by trade and The Chronicles of Jack McCool is my first children’s book series.
With three sons diagnosed with ADHD, one of my main reasons for writing Jack McCool's adventures was to create a rollicking story with a quirky main character whose fantastic sense of humour I knew my boys would love. I also wanted to engage other children with ADHD and other visible and non-visible differences, as well as reluctant readers.
Book one, The Amulet of Athlone, was published by Bauer Books in October 2017. The following three books in the series (The Tomb of the Emerald Scarab, The Crown of Burning Ice and The Lost Well of Wisdom) appeared in quick succession with the final two Jack McCool books (The Curse of the Golden Idol and The ...more
