Elspeth was born in the 80's to Anglo-Scottish parents.

Elspeth graduated from the Open University in 2014 with a BA Open that covered history, languages and creative writing.

In addition to writing children's books Elspeth is working with the Nynorn project to help revive Scotland's most endangered language Norn.

Elspeth has written a series of workbooks covering the basics of Norn grammar and has also translated a number of the ever popular bilingual children's books by Philipp Winterberg into Norn.

After losing her hearing in 2009 Elspeth learnt Sign Language and enjoys writing poetry in both English and Sign Supported English.

Hi Gemma sorry just spotted this. Sadly our daughter has chosen to be right-handed during school hours. The teachers insisted that there was never any bias and wouldn't change. On the upside she is still writing with her left hand at home and the local secondary school has a lefties club. It's another 4 years till she moves up but it's something to look forward to.

Gemma Fasheun Well, I read our post about what happened to you at your daughter's school and I think that the teacher is not doing good by pushing a child to be right handed when she's left handed. Did you talk with the head of the school?
