I grew up in the 4-Corners area, in the city of Farmington, New Mexico. I love New Mexico, and am influenced by its rich Hispanic and Native American culture, and will bring some of this knowledge to future work. I also love Colorado of which I was a resident for thirty plus years.

Since my debut in 2010, I've added five more books and am currently hard at working on number seven.

I'm passionate about suspense and storytelling. I hope you'll join me as I write around the theme *SUSPENSE TOO CLOSE TO HOME*

If you're passionate about a story idea, keep going. It doesn't have to be Pulitzer prize winning. But there's something magical that happens when you take an idea and follow it to completion. Don't keep polishing the opening chapters -- move on. It gives you an enormous sense of accomplishment. (less)

I once wrote a book because I couldn't learn the outcome. A man was gunned down on the capital steps in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I was on my lunch hour and it was breaking news. That night I tried to find out what happened, and it was as if the news had vanished. People aren't normally gunned down in Santa Fe in such a public place. I wrote my first book out of frustration, I suppose.(less)

Deadly Recall: One of The Stiletto Gang’s Summer Bonanza Giveaway

Happy Monday!    Years ago, I attended the Pikes Peak Writers Conference in which Robert Crais was our keynote speaker. (Love his Elvis Cole/Joe Pike novels) He was speaking about rejection and asked writers in the audience by a show of hands how many had received a rejection. As hands went up, they subsequently went […]
