Writing is challenging for me. Full stop.

Yet I start..

I know I’m not alone in that regard, but for an activity that I purport to enjoy, actually sitting down and knocking shit out does not come easily. My life is full of distractions - kids, reading, friends, full-time jobs that actually pay me - and so it is difficult to take the focus, and re-focusing, required.

More of Aaron's books…
Dante Alighieri
“Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.”
Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy: Inferno - Purgatorio - Paradiso

“Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.”
Michael Crichton

Hunter S. Thompson
“The press is a gang of cruel faggots. Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuckoffs and misfits—a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage.”
Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream
