"Ok, I like the Sanderson updates because I feel like this is the point before any potential sanderlanche (AKA the point in which I'm not stopping to write anything), but 6-7 died so I've moved on to 70%.

My earlier update applies- guns AND magic is a wild combo. Also, didn't plan on reading era 2, but I'm patiently waiting for my Emma Lions holds and figured I'd pick this up. I'm glad I did!"

Anne Lamott
“Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won't have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren't even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they're doing it.”
Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Zora Neale Hurston
“There is a basin in the mind where words float around on thought and thought on sound and sight. Then there is a depth of thought untouched by words, and deeper still a gulf of formless feelings untouched by thought.”
Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God

Barbara Kingsolver
“Once you start cooking, one thing leads to another. A new recipe is as exciting as a blind date. A new ingredient, heaven help me, is an intoxicating affair.”
Barbara Kingsolver, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life

Charles Dickens
“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Charles Dickens
“A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.”
Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
