The latest tome on the Strike series is a very good read. A massive volume of narrative where red herring are as common as a mackerel in the north Sea. The relationship between Robin and Strike become more equal as Robin's new role as a partner forced Strike to lose some of his autonomy. We also see a more caring lost Strike in his relationship with his aunt and uncle who raised him. We also see a web of deceit from likely suspects and the final third of the book swiftly draws you towards an unexpected conclusion, but I won't spoil that! Rowling does include the odd humorous nod towards well known comedic sketches but are heavily disguised and it is only when after you have read the passage and again I won't spoil them. On the whole a very good book and probably the best so far.
