Jay has been writing for almost as long as he has been reading. He learned how to structure a good story through several sources. His parents were both good storytellers. Growing up in a modern home without television, he honed his imagination on old radio shows and TV-on-stereo.

The books he learned the most from were Robert E. Howard's "Conan" saga and Edgar Rice Burroughs' "John Carter Of Mars" series and "Tarzan" series. His first story was written in fourth grade, his first poem in sixth grade.

He has made forays into songwriting and playwriting, but has found that writing stories and poetry are his strengths. He also draws an occasional cartoon for his ongoing series "Jay's World" which he plans on releasing in book form at some point ...more

It's strange how, when you stop writing for a while because you are busy with non-writing life, you suddenly see the errors you allowed to pass in your books. I had just an experience. When reviewing "Hand Me Down World", "Dreams", and "Laughing" I realized that the ages weren't in chronological order.
