Ron Silliman has written and edited 30 books to date, most recently articipating in the multi-volume collaborative autobiography, The Grand Piano. Between 1979 & 2004, Silliman wrote a single poem, entitled The Alphabet. In addition to Woundwood, a part of VOG, volumes published thus far from that project have included ABC, Demo to Ink, Jones, Lit, Manifest, N/O, Paradise, (R), Toner, What and Xing. The University of Alabama Press will publish the entire work as a single volume in 2008. Silliman has now begun writing a new poem entitled Universe.

Silliman was the 2006 Poet Laureate of the Blogosphere, a 2003 Literary Fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts and was a 2002 Fellow of the Pennsylvania Arts Council as well as a Pew Fellow i ...more

What is the new sentence about? I have been reading predominately nonfiction b/c of concentration issues. It helps me keep my focus.

I looked at your site and it's very nice, I plan to look around it more in the next couple of weeks. Poetry fascinates me. I have committed to memory some children's poems from my childhood. At one time I could recite the raven, the duel and the highwayman. that was a long time ago. Now I restrict myslef to journalling, which, while it can be a bit droll, it's far safer.

I could also introduce you to a few poets I know if you were interested. Good luck and I look forward to getting to know you.

Ron, we had poetry long before we had writing simply because these lengthy ballards with their rhymes could be memorized better and withstood centuries of being handed down far better than tales without rhythm. Good luck in the book world.
