“When things are bleak it is human nature to think it will always be thus, but that is not true. One must experience the dark to truly value the light. The stars are in the sky all day, but it is only at night that we can see and appreciate them. So, when things in your life seem bleak, look to the heavens. You cope with today and plan for tomorrow.

Strength isn't a fixed state. It is a series of choices in between moments of weakness. I would not chose to lie down and give up, which meant even though I had no idea how I would weather the storm ahead, I had to stand up and at least try. I wasn't foolish enough to think it wouldn't be hard, but every person must determine the price of their own worth. When you don't know how you will handle a situation, when it feels as if it will all be too much, then simply focus on doing the next right thing and go from that point.
