'The Fallen' was inspired by being taken by a bad man when I was a toddler (luckily got away relatively unscathed). 'The David Trilogy' was inspired by being attacked by a serial rapist in my 20's (luckily got away unscathed, must have a guardian angel 🙂).

'Crimella' was inspired by the above incidents plus my time working in celebrity driven worlds, child charity, and for the past decade or so as a crime investigator.... and asking why? Thus inspiring storylines.

Crimella includes the humor-coping-mechanism of the emergency services weaved into its fabric, the self mocking that helps when dealing with soul destroying humans with traits that abhor you, rock you, make you ashamed of the human race.

After a decade or so, I've now left police to write full time. Am blessed to be able to do the work I do. Shining a light on what's behind the thin blue line, especially for those who live in a bubble. It's my way of warning folk, keeping them safe. And thanking the brave hard-working men and women on the front line protecting us.

After the toddler incident I used to pray to the heaven's asking to be able to sit on a cloud for a while after I die, and get the baddies who slip through their fingers. I'm still going to keep to that deal. But before I pop my clogs I'll help others through words, books, laughter, and escapism.(less)

AUTHOR QUESTION

QUESTION ‘I really enjoyed what you’ve created with ‘The Deal’, especially the way you blended crime with that darker, unconventional take on angels/justice. It’s not a typical good vs evil story, its more raw, unpredictable, and human. I also like the flawed, real characters, and that world balance between chaos, justice, and emotion. It got me thinking, was there any real-life experience or emot Read more of this blog post »

S.C. Cunningham Wow! Thank you 'My Books and Crafts' for this wonderful 5⭐ review for CRIMELLA. Very much appreciated. I was worried my multi-genre feel may be too much for murder mystery lovers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.... and Rachel, for organising the book tour. Rachel's Random Resources

REVIEW for CRIMELLA by S C Cunningham

❗''Okay, if you’re after a murder mystery that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still dishes out plenty of intrigue, this book set in the sleepy village of Nettleacre is a real treat. You’ve got an oddball trio consisting of an ex-glamour girl, a no-nonsense ex-policewoman, and a hopelessly romantic spiritual healer—who bounce off each other brilliantly. They’re always up for a glass of wine, a bit of cheeky banter, and poking their noses where they probably shouldn’t, which makes for a cracking read.

What’s brilliant about this story is how it mashes up cosy countryside vibes with supernatural shenanigans and some great quick-witted chatter. The action rattles along nicely, but honestly, it’s the lovable cast and the gorgeous English setting that really make it stand out. If you like your murder mysteries with a twist and a good laugh, you’ll have a blast with this one—it’s a classic fun and fresh take on the genre. I really enjoyed it! "
My Rating 5 ⭐️ !"❗

Crimella: Not-so-cozy Murder Mystery

message 2: by S.C.

S.C. Cunningham Hello there fellow booklovers, am excited to share that my latest novella, CRIMELLA of the Nettleacre Murders, comes out on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited on 25 11 25.

If you like not-so-cozy murder mystery with a touch of hot chemistry, female sleuths, rogue police, redeeming ex-cons, toxic villains, unseen entities and delicious country village escapism (with lots of dogs, everyone needs a soul-soothing dog!)... it may be something for you. Enjoy!
