The Paradoxical Commandments
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.”

BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF JUNE 2016.Book: The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides
I happened to watch the critically acclaimed movie before reading the book. The movie to me was extremely different to other teen movies during that era and really stood out to me due to the indelicacy for which they regarded the subject of suicide- a topic that is usually considered taboo but The Virgin Suicides handled it like they weren't afraid of what people would say and that's what captured my attention. The book also shares the same quirkiness and originality as the movie and it is told in such a unique way that you can't help but turn the pages in a hurry.
BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF MAY 2016.Book: We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie
For a long time now I have been begging myself to read a book by this highly acclaimed Nigerian author and I finally gave in when I read this extended essay. We Should All Be Feminists is a fantastic novel exploring the things that separate man and woman. She uses personal examples in her life where being a woman just wasn't good enough. Seeing as I am a female and Nigerian- most of her words hit home and made me realise just how huge the gender gap really is.
All in all, this book was an eye opener, one I am truly grateful for reading.
BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF APRIL 2016. Book: Being There by Jerzy Kosinski
Being There is one of those simplistic novels that leave such a huge impact on your life. It's so odd and so different that you can't help being captivated by the book from the very first page- start to finish. It's such a beautifully crafted satire on humanity that everyone should get to read at least once in their lifetime.
BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF MARCH 2016.Book: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
Fight Club is such a brilliant novel! I fell totally in love with everything it had to offer. I loved all the characters and the climax left me absolutely speechless.
Was an obvious winner for the best book of March.
BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2016.Book: ANIMAL FARM by George Orwell
Ahh this was a tough decision seeing as I read amzing books in February but I believe the most thought provoking piece and novel that left me still pondering about it days after I read it is Animal Farm.
This is a read that I recommend to people of all ages as I believe we can all learn a thing or two from the animals down at Manor Farm.
BEST BOOK IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2016.Book: The Marvels by Brian Selznick
The Marvels is honestly in a class of its own and I guess that is why it definitely classifies as my best book of January. It was absolutely stunning- it's beautiful story and the magnificent illustrations kept me greedy and thirsty for more!
