You have to be a bit of a liar to tell a story the right way. Too much truth confuses the facts. Too much honesty makes you sound insincere.”
With a page count of over 600, this book looks like a commitment. Open it, though, and it is an adventure. A quest from childhood consumes the life of the main character - but what is it, really? Is he really the main character, or only the protagonist? Rothfuss, himself an established historian, takes us on an adventure far beyond the best-loved fantasies into an experience which is sure to fill the imagination, and the dreams, of his readers for many, many nights to come. The page count? I grabbed the sequel the night I finished this one, and it's twice the length! If you love adventure, Fantasy, or just a great story, this one is a must-read.

“Being known. Our Western world has long emphasized knowledge—factual information and “proof”—over the process of being known by God and others. No wonder, then, that despite all our technological advancements and the proliferation of social media, we are more intra- and interpersonally isolated than ever. Yet it is only when we are known that we are positioned to become conduits of love. And it is love that transforms our minds, makes forgiveness possible, and weaves a community of disparate people into the tapestry of God’s family. Attention.”
