Kate St. Vincent Vogl is the author of Lost & Found: A Memoir of Mothers, which was featured on national ABC news and named by the Akron Beacon Journal among the best of the year. She is the co-author of Lady Ref as well as Iron Horse Cowgirls. Her work appears in Prairie Schooner and in best-selling anthologies like Why We Ride. Her fiction has received support from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Anderson Center. Vogl graduated from Cornell University cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, and from Hamline’s Creative Writing Program. She teaches at the Loft in Minneapolis.

Put this on my list since it won the National Book Award. Incisive, insightful commentary. The structure, at times powerful. He leans more into the argument than details and there loses the profluency for me.

A beautiful book. Set not far from my husband’s grandfather’s home in County Kerry, which we were lucky enough to go to in a sunny day, so I could imagine it well. The kind of book to restore your faith in hope and humanity.

extensively researched, effectively told story of the Holocaust from 2 POVs - two 20-something year old women, one a Jewish prisoner in Theresienstadt and one a Nazi trying to make propaganda films.
