Lauren Cecile is a judge in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Spelman College and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, she is married with two children and enjoys family time, reading, playing tennis and going to the movies. She was inspired to write "Eyes Like Mine" after visiting the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California as well as several African-American history museums. Movies such as "Rosewood," "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas," and "The Butler" also stoked her fascination about the nature of prejudice and the parallel experiences of Blacks and Jews in a racially volatile society.

Thank you. And I'll try Ake!

Leona Glazebrooks Midnight Riot (Peter Grant #1) which is the USA title for this book,
by Ben Aaronovitch (Goodreads Author) is a well-written paranormal mystery. The author acknowledges there are cultural differences while developing every character and every group humanely and not as a racial stereotype.

Majenta Greetings, Lauren! Thanks for contacting me, Friend Request Accepted! Congratulations on your book, and kudos for your appeal for writers to edit their work! Inept editing really is becoming a problem these days and I join you in your fight against it! I hope you are well and will have a great week ahead. Happy reading, writing, and everything else. Blessings!

Best wishes from Majenta

Eddie Lauren, Thanks for the Goodreads Friends request. Looking forward to sharing good reads with you.

Madeline Lauren,
Thank you for your Friend request. I have added your book to my Kindle collection. I haven't been able to read for pleasure for a while now. I involved myself in some volunteer service work and began a 6-month online course. I have only been able to read my textbooks. I look forward to September. That's when I will read for fun again!! Looking forward to following you.

Yelda Basar Moers Hi Lauren,

Thanks for friending me! You are one of the most compelling friends I've had being a judge and an author and mother! Very cool! I personally think lawyers make great book authors and novelists. I will have to put your book on my to read list! I love historical fiction too!!!

Yelda

message 2: by Gina

Gina My literary inspiration is Sharon Draper. She was my high school English teacher at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She now is an award winning author of many YA books with themes centered around race and class issues. As a class assignment, we helped her edit her first book, Tears of a Tiger Tears of a Tiger (Hazelwood High, #1) by Sharon M. Draper , and in doing that my eyes were opened by this wise, beautiful, inspired teacher. I wanted you to check her out if you haven't heard of her because it sounds like both of you have the same writing interests and Mrs. Draper is an incredible writer whose books appeal to all people.

I also read and review books for authors here on Goodreads. If you ever need or want a book read and reviewed, I do a full, almost one page critical analysis and post it both here and on Amazon. I spent 8 years teaching Litereature and English to 3rd, 4th, and 7th-8th grades. Now I spend my time reading and reviewing books for enjoyment and for authors. I have already added your book to my TBR and am excited to get my hands on it!

Thanks for the friend request from a fellow Buckeye! Have a Blessed day!- Gina

Lauren Cecile The ebook version of "Eyes Like Mine" will be free on Wednesday, November 11th (Veterans' Day/my birthday!) on Amazon! Check it out!
