Where McEwan barely succeeds, Ghosh's activist prose (also on GMOs) sounds shrill and feels counterproductive. I fully agree with Ghosh that climate change is a huge threat and downplayed by both politicians and artists, but in this book his vision on it does not translate into artistic value....more
