The politics of this were so well written and executed. I am just really pleased. And I truly didn't feel like anything was drawn out. The first 130 pages felt long in comparison to the pace of the rest of the book, but it was needed. You needed to see and understand where Feyre was emotionally, mentally, and physically at that point. The character development in this was astounding. Seriously. Feyre's growth and change felt justified and deserved and incredible. It felt real.

I feel like many of the things SJM is critiqued about, she tackled in this. Primarily about equality in life & relationships. Seriously really enjoyed this.

Idk what else to say. I get the canon appeal now, which I really didn't get in book 1 (I'd actually love to read ACOTAR again based off of what I know now). I get why everyone HATES Tamlin (I get it, I despise him). And this ended in such a good place, on such a good note that leaves me wanting more, but not in an annoying cliffhanger way.

I love this world. I love these characters. I am sad there is only one more book with them, and the rest of the world will be with others. Because I love Feyre and Rhys, as people and together. They are snarky and broken and brave and stubborn and strong. I enjoy reading about them so much. And their families.

I am so so so pleasantly happy with this. Only complaint would be the wording in parts. Like "vulgar gestures" and sometimes how the sex scenes were described.

Also, everyone said this book was dirty but I'm pretty sure there were like, 400 pages straight sans sex activity. Maybe I had heard so much about it that I thought there would be more? Although they were explicit, I'll give you that. Definitely more so than other YA/crossover books.

What was before a good series with characters I enjoyed in ACOTAR, I now have a world I find fascinating, a city I would love to visit, and a cast of characters that are distinct and rich. I get why this is a favorite of many. ...more "
