"read this maybe 7 or 8 years ago and i’m listening to it again. this is a great american novel. generational trauma, slavery, “freedom”, and a mother’s love. horrific and entrancing in a way that it’s hard to put it down yet i can’t help but be overwhelmed by the imagery at times. i love the supernatural elements. true american gothic" — Apr 01, 2024 11:25AM
