Telling America's story. Inspiring road trips by telling people where to go. Sharing the adventure. It's what we do at Jim Hinckley's America.
We do this with books, 23 published to date including Route 66: 100 Years, Here We Are ... On Route 66, Backroads of Arizona, The Big Book of Car Culture, Ghost Towns of the Southwest, Murder and Mayhem on The Main Street of America: Tales From Bloody 66, Ghost Towns of Route 66, and The Illustrated Route 66 Historical Atlas. And we do it with the weekly Coffee With Jim podcast on Podbean, an official Route 66 centennial program. This as well as presentations made internationally illustrate why author, historian and humorist Jim Hinckley has earned the reputation of being a master storyteller.

This may be a rather odd habit but I have a game of chess open on the computer next to the one I use for writing. On long days at the key board, I hit spots where the wind seems to leave my sails. Just a few chess moves serves to resolve the problem. (less)

However, what really provides incentive is not the glowing reviews, the occasional advance or royalty, or even having Jay Leno show up at a book signing, it is the friendships made.
My published work and the related correspondence, as well as meeting with travelers and tour groups resultant of my work, has led to the development of international friendships that truly enrich our lives. (less)

Coffee With Jim, November 30, 2025

https://www.podbean.com/media/share/p... Thanksgiving. A time for reflection. Today’s program is a bit different. It’s a one sided conversation about holidays, holiday history, holiday traditions, gratitude, and family and friends (like Dries Bessels that I forgot to credit when talking about the latest book). So, what are you grateful for this holiday season?

The post Coffee With Jim, November 30
