In 2012, Dave came down with a serious illness and reestablished some priorities in his life. Music and writing came to the forefront and have remained there since. He’s a graduate of the University of Nebraska MFA in Fiction and a singing/songwriting member of Bazile Mills. He’s also owned restaurants for over 25 years and has traveled around the world as a business consultant where he enjoyed more of the human experience. He now teaches writing at Iowa Western and Wayne State College. He was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.

How to Be Lonely is his first book of short stories.

Mary Robison, Amy Hempel, Carver, DFW, Ron Carlson, Murakami, Tom Paine, Junot Diaz, Zadie Smith, Thom Jones, TC Boyle, Italo Calvino, Denis Johnson, and every ONE STORY that comes in the mail. I also finished the novel LESS. I am fascinated with Bobby Fischer right now and finishing Bobby Fischer Goes to War. And I read Shuggie Bain, a merciless novel that tears you apart the more you read. Terrific writing and worthy of the awards and praise. (less)

My big project is a novel. Lots of work done. Lots to go. (less)
