Max Moreno is a Brazilian author of crime fiction, suspense, and psychological fiction.

He writes about people who reach their limits — and what happens when they cross them.

His stories explore crime, violence, guilt, obsession, and the contradictions of human nature, placing flawed characters in situations that reveal what is darkest — and sometimes most human — within us. He is the author of A Outra Sombra (The Other Shadow), As Paredes Eram Brancas (The White Walls), and Dias de Lua, as well as short stories published in Portuguese and English. His literary debut came in 2013 with A Outra Sombra. In 2016, his short story Vinte Pratas was published in an anthology honoring Charles Bukowski.

"When I was young in the 1950’s, the whole family would gather around our ancient rabbit-eared black & white TV when the postwar sensation Perry Como came on.

And every week, he’d start out by singing, ‘Dream along with me - I’m on my way to the Stars" Read more of this review »

Max added a status update: One of the things I admire most about Dostoevsky is his ability to explore the contradictions within human nature.

His characters are rarely simply good or evil. They struggle with their own thoughts, desires, and moral choices.
