John J. Allen (1949-?) was born in Santa Maria, CA. For thirty years he worked for the U.S. Navy at China Lake, CA, and Point Mugu, CA. Prior to that, he worked for the Federal Prison System at Lompoc, CA, Leavenworth, KS, and Morgantown, WV. John J. Allen I try to write a book as though I were in the story. My goal is to write 2000 words per day and let them take the story wherever it goes. After a few …moreI try to write a book as though I were in the story. My goal is to write 2000 words per day and let them take the story wherever it goes. After a few days, I read what I've written to make sure I'm happy with it, and then keep on writing. As soon as I get to 50K words, I relax a bit, and then go back and expand on the story lines that may be weak. The interesting thing is, the more I write, the more I'm driven to keep on writing. In the back of my mind I make certain determinations in advance, most importantly, how the book will end. I try not to lose the synergy and never take a long break(less)
