message 811: by Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ (last edited Nov 22, 2017 12:12AM)

Tadiana ✩Night Owl☽ Hi Nenia! Sorry, it was bedtime last night at midnight - I was tired! So here's my life update: we're getting ready for Thanksgiving, which our family is hosting, so I'm psyching myself up to do turkey, stuffing, etc. My 19 year old daughter is flying to Japan in about 5 days for 16 months, she's serving a Mormon mission there. So that's pretty exciting for us. Our older two boys and our 15 year old boy are all living at home right now. Hopefully the older two will launch sometime in the not-too-far-distant future! They're both in their early 20s, and they're good guys with decent jobs, so I can't complain too much. :) And finally, I can't figure out why, but all of a sudden I'm picking up GR followers like crazy. I'm up to around 1800 now, and most of them have come in just like the last month. Seriously, I'd love to know why I suddenly got so popular!

On the other hand, I think I'm starting to feel the first symptoms of reviewer burnout. I may slow the pace down one of these times. I've hit the top 10 the last several weeks, which is cool, but I don't think I want to try to keep posting reviews as much as I have been the last year or so. We'll see how it goes. :)

lacy white Thank you for accepting my request! I, too, look forward to discussing books and reviews with you....provided GR behaves! ;)

message 808: by Elena

Elena Sooo... I'm done with Darkwater! I know I was quite behind you but - heh - at some point it picked up speed, stuff happened, and... you know how it goes: I couldn't put it down! Three stars going on four - looking forward to know what you think of it! :)

message 807: by Sabrien

Sabrien Abdelrahman Thanks for accepting my friend request. I always love meeting new goodreads friends to interact with!

message 806: by Beige

Beige Thanks for accepting my request. I look forward to stalking your shelves and chatting about books :)

message 805: by Elena

Elena Oh, yes - vampires are always welcome unless they sparkle in the sun or something: I'm in for a fangy BR whenever you want!

I'll definitely check Crimson Kiss out - even though I was already following you (it does sound a bit creepy when you put it like that, doesn't it) when you reviewed the second and third books in the series and... HUH! Weird times. Weird times indeed.

message 804: by Elena

Elena Oh, I already did browse around your shelves and took a good look around! And also noticed some awsome old school vampire books that I'll soon get my hands on... I just need to get over my current obsession with uf novels and broaden yet again my literary horizon! ;)

message 803: by Elena

Elena Haha, thank you! But, really... the only female werewolf in the hands on LKH... a chilling thought, isn't it? Thank you for accepting my friend request, looking forward to your guidance, sensei! ;)

Heather ~*dread mushrooms*~ OMG CAN YOU STOP ADDING ALL THESE AWESOME VAMPIRE BOOKS AND RUINING MY LIFE MAKING ALL MY VAMPIRE DREAMS COME TRUE

Monty Cupcake ☠ Queen of Bloodshed ☠ I feel like this meme is about the MacHalos....it's a very special group of oddballs. But we do love vampires! We even have a vampire month.

All the points to you for reading that crazy Crimson series. I like your scintillating choices in books. Thanks for the add. :) I look forward to stalking more of your updates and reviews.

Priyamwadha Hi, thanks for connecting!

message 799: by Eric

Eric Plume In the tradition of me finding theme songs for your books, here's my discovery for The IMA. I can totally picture Michael and Christina running around, having drama and kicking ass with this in the background...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6PNZ...

PS: I've heard from my fiancée that the video I linked has a lot of pretty men in it. I have no idea what constitutes a "pretty" man (according to her I'm a terrible judge of male attractiveness and I'll own that, I still have no idea why she finds me appealing, lol) but I'll take her word for it. Maybe you'll agree.

Anyhow, enjoy Japan! I look forward to your pictures. :D

Adi Rocks Socks Hi! I downloaded Cloak And Dagger onto my Kindle. I can't wait to read it. Thanks for making it so easily available! xx

edge of bubble GR suddenly stopped giving notifications for comments on the profile and I almost missed your wondrous rage review! I can't believe the nerve.

reading your review gave me the swears! my fist was rised to air and I was yelling that cunt to die.

and I'm so proud of you! the rage in your words is piercing!

message 794: by Diamond

Diamond Jones-Cox Welcome! I read a lot of Christian Fiction books with Amish Fiction being my fav. I also read urban, fiction, fantasy, and suspense. What about you?

message 793: by Anu

Anu And Tiny Hands still went on to impose the global gag order? How does he still have so many supporters?

I know! I saw some of the signs; Anya and I even discussed them, in fact. They were so clever!

message 792: by Anu

Anu Well, aren't we all allergic to a particular cheeto? ;)

I read all sorts of positive things about the march. And some of the signs, goddamn! They were positively splendid!

message 791: by Maraya21

Maraya21 (The Reading Dragon) Well that is the good thing about being genre handicapped: I can read anything. I don't look for/at the genre and say "oh i don't normally like that so what am i doing here on this book page?".
If i think there is a teeny tiny chance i might like it i will give it a shot.

Most, if not all, people are like that. Just because you like a genre or a particular author doesn't mean you're gonna like everything they write. Same principal goes to everything, art, music, anime, manga, clothes, shoes etc.

I think it is great that you don't like or like everything within a certain category. Leaves room for variety and diversity. The picky thing can also be good cause it means you have a knowledge about yourself and choose what suits you. Though when it is extreme it cuts out the variety/diversity above.

Fantasy was my first genre for exactly that reason, so much creativity and even diversity within the same idea (vampires, hunting, fae, magic etc).

I am half Greek, half Indian. When i was a child i spoke Hindu & English but since i was in Greece i needed to learn that as well. They told my mom i needed to drop the other two languages to be able to adapt & learn Greek. So even though i really liked looking at books i wasn't allowed to read in English or Hindu and i couldn't do it in Greek, yet anyway.

My very first book was Matilda which i read in Greek. I absolutely loved it! It was so close to home, with the bullying and mocking and all that. It took me time to finish it but when i did i realised how much i loved reading! A few others came after that when i was in my last years of high school, though i didn't read that much cause i always longed to read in English again, but i enjoyed the Greek translations too.

Again you're welcome. Though i seriously doubt you'll find anything remotely intriguing in my selves, but you're welcome to them none the less :D

P.S: Sorry i seem to have managed an essay here ^ somehow *sigh*

message 790: by Anu

Anu I see your profile photo. Much love and good luck! Make Cheeto McTinyhand regret every statement he's ever made.

message 789: by Maraya21

Maraya21 (The Reading Dragon) You are most welcome! ^_^

I am Genre handicapped tbh but it seems fantasy is kind of my thing. Mostly, actually all the time, I just see a book and i either read it or don't, sooo easy :3

Go on ahead! Most don't have a review cause i had been lazy lol so feel free to ask about any book in my shelves :D
Recommendations are welcomed as well!

message 788: by Angela

Angela Auten Ehhh, I probably will never use anything directly related to Amazon. I hate the Kindle tbh.

I use KDP, but I don't really like it as much as Nook Press which I feel is better. To each their own. Createspace is the only good thing that Amazon came up with.

message 787: by Angela

Angela Auten I mainly buy ebooks more though lol

I want to read the IMA, but they aren't in Nook Book format nor does Barnes and Noble have all the books either.

(As most people can tell I’m not a big Amazon fan though I sell on there.)

message 786: by Angela

Angela Auten Lol understandable. Paperbacks are amazing to hold.

I only order paper if they aren't in Nook Book format and I really want to read them. Lol

message 785: by Angela

Angela Auten Hello! Thank you so much for accepting! :)
I see you read a lot of ebooks as well! Lol I have a lot of ebooks. Saves a lot of space in the house!

Thanks for accepting my friend invite! ^_^
Already compared books, not many in common (yet) and from them most you have read, unlike slowpoke me. Well i'll read pretty much anything though liking it is another story altogether.

Haven't read many books this month but the few i did & liked are the following:
- Skin Game (The Dresden Files #15) by Jim Butcher: Absolutely in love with this series
- Overtaken (The Warrior Chronicles #6) by K.F. Breene: Another absolute love here
- Queen Heir (NYC Mecca #1) by Jaymin Eve: Read you review of The Selection today and i would like to see what you think of this if you ever read it since both are about regency.
- The Awesome by Eva Darrows: Another book i would really like to see your opinion about. Like really!
- The Wizard's Heir by Devri Walls

After the above we go to last year were we have two fo my fav series:
- Lana Harvey, Reapers Inc. by Angela Roquet
- Solus Series by Devri Walls

I am blabbing! So sorry! I do have a favs shelf you can look if you're bored to read all the above ^_^

edge of bubble thank you for accepting my request!

it's a different kind of fun to talk to someone who didn't enjoy a book you really liked. and vice versa. I am happy to find another HR fan, can't wait to raid your shelves to broaden my horizons =p

Mary ~Ravager of Tomes~ Haha I know I was like omg she just followed me! But you're right Friendship > Following! :D I do believe I've seen your name floating around on my feed a few times anyway so this is perfect lol. & I don't blame you at all I am usually less active during week myself.

Very nice to meet you! I'm sure we'll have lots of bookish things to chat about! Plus I can't wait to see what you think of Off to be the Wizard once you're finished! :'D

message 768: by via.

via. Hello Nenia! Thanks for accepting my friend request! :) IT is currently giving me minnie heart attacks but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've read Carrie when I was 12 and reread it a few weeks ago. I also read Four Past Midnight and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon some years ago and they still haunt me to this day, haha! My favourite would be Carrie though... What other King books have you read? I am planning to read more of him after I finish IT and would welcome recommendations :D

P.S. I found your books in Smashwords and am definitely buying it!

message 767: by Tara

Tara Nenia, you write with such intelligence, I had no idea you were so young. Great books and awesome reviews, my friend!

message 766: by Jenny

Jenny Well, after reading your books, it makes sense that you love thrillers! ;)
I love HR too, but I've read books from only few authors. Lol you got it right :P I read almost anything with romance in it. I occasionally read mystery/horror, but most of the time I'm reading fantasy and YA :)

message 765: by Jenny

Jenny Haha, that's totally me! ;D Yup, it's Science-fiction. It's my first book by the author. His books always seemed very serious so I was hesitant in picking it up, but I'm really liking so far. Even if nothing is making sense :P I haven't read many of his books either, so really can't recommend or say much about them :) You read a lot of HR, right? I've seen many reviews of yours!
