I recommend Fauskanger for in-depth analysis of Ardalambion.

I follow merely in the footsteps of the great Zompist, whose linguistic analysis of Syldavian I greatly admire.

Scribble Orca Like whether "Prensky" is the infinitive? Don't mess with a cunning linguist, eh Manny?

Manny Thank you James! Though sometimes I fear it's dense approaches to light subjects :)

message 82: by James

James Your impressive Manny I love how your mind works, with its light approach to such dense subjects.

Very absorbing.

Manny It's Paul's fault. His idea was irresistible, and I had to try it out there and then. When was I next going to get such a good opportunity?

Scribble Orca You liked it? We had such a nightmare with the Council afterwards. Honestly, even if it was only a silicone imitation, you didn't have to engulf it in flames out of sheer pique. Poking it first would have made less of a mess.

Scribble Orca No, non-fiction hardly ever is. But marketable it most definitely must be. :D

Scribble Orca a seriously long lunch....

message 76: by Manny

Manny Ah... I just thought I'd provide background on my one attempt so far to write erotic trash fiction. As you see, it's all Jordan's fault! She really has a lot to answer for.

More after lunch...

Scribble Orca Right. (breathing back under control).

I'll read it...after you...ahem...provide verifiable, quantifiable, irrefutable proof of correcting yourself by undertaking the following activity:

Manny wrote: "Since I have never worn a bra, much less put anything into it, I am the wrong person to comment, but I must say that it seemed like an extraordinarily uncomfortable fashion choice. I am prepared to be corrected on this."

I'll comment yours, and you comment this, va bene?

Update! We have signed up our first girl, though we'd love to get more if possible. We hope to start testing some time this week. Please contact me if your child is interested. $15 a session.

Scribble Orca just give me a few minutes, will you?

notgettingenough You might think this funny. I have thought for some time now that I've had tummy pains as a result of well...you know. It turns out that actually I've been carrying a kidney infection for a while (since Japan) which is quite painful now that I've had it explained to me. You can guess why I have it. Don't worry. I still have the stomach pains. It is quite an ironic combination when you think about it.

Scribble Orca thanks for your acceptance, Manny

Manny An easy $50 if you're a US teen

If you're a US teen, or have a child/friend/whatever who is, we're looking for testers for a speech-enabled internet game. $50 to call the system 3-4 times and talk to it. You need a broadband connection and a headset. Mail me at mannyrayner@yahoo.com if you're interested.

Maiden Aunt I dare say, my Manny, I do think it is time you thought about shaving!

Jessica Manny: Have you read Per Petterson's Out Stealing Horses? I've a question about the translation....maybe you can look at my review-in-progress? I'm not finished with the novel--
merci mon ami!

Really glad to be your goodreads friend.

Manny If you're a European citizen and you're not a fan of Tony Blair, you may be interested in signing this online petition against him becoming EU President.

I am just appalled that it isn't being decided democratically. How can we criticize the US presidential election as being rigged, when we don't even have one?

message 53: by M

M Thanks for your friendship. Enjoy to read all your relevant books's reviews and comments !!!

Matthieu Thanks for checking out that old poem. Hope you've been well, Manny.

Manny Ceridwen wrote: "Is this a break-up letter? I can't decide. "

My feeling was no. Though I agree, it's close!

message 50: by Jen

Jen If you need convincing, then it doesn't meet your break up standards :) It is okay. There are plenty plenty more where that came from- is there no sanctity nowadays to book relationships? Somebody ought to start a petition! :)

globulon I'm rereading a book your new friend would probably like. (Unfortunately you will have to tell her that I myself am not unattached ;)

message 46: by Manny

Manny I'm sorry... I shouldn't be so easily influenced by what I read. Just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray. I must say that I did rather empathize with Lord Henry...

message 45: by Manny

Manny Thank you for the birthday greetings! I had quite a good time here in California...

message 44: by Jessica

Jessica Happy Birthday (late) Manny!
Hope it was a great day for you!

message 43: by C.

C. Oh right, um, happy birthday! For yesterday (or possibly the day before, depending on the time difference).

message 42: by Manny

Manny Thank you!

I don't think she translates very well...

message 41: by Nick

Nick Black wow, de Beauvoir among your favorites? i couldn't deal with her.

i'm glad i've found you, manny! you're a good man, and thorough.

Manny Well thank you! But I'll start celebrating when I have 1000 reviews... still a long way short of that target :)

Matthieu Indeed. Way to go, Manny.

Manny I was most worried about the young hussy! She looked painfully undernourished. I so wanted to give her a big plate of spaghetti, with a healthy green salad on the side and a glass of milk. And maybe a cookie or two afterwards if she was still hungry.
