The title seems to be on top of some circular sort of symbol. Will this work?

Kim (goodreadscomkimber) | 708 comments For option 4, may I use 11.59?
The main character is a radio talk show host. In the GR description it mentions him as a local phone in host.
Just wanted to be sure. If you don't allow this one, do we have to choose from the link you provided for talk show hosts?
thanks

Yes, this is fine ... a fictional talk show host works for me.

Sarah (m_sarah) | 60 comments For option 6, would a book by an anthropologist work?

I found this Japanese Lessons: A Year in a Japanese School Through the Eyes of an American Anthropologist and Her Children by Gail R. Benjamin.

The author seems to be an anthropologist and is writing a non-fiction book about his experience of the Japanese school-system, so one could say the main character is, also, an anthropologist.

Peebee | 481 comments What about an award seal that is not part of the cover, but added to the cover? The edition I read of Looking for Alaska by John Green had the round gold seal.

Laurie | 910 comments Peebee wrote: "What about an award seal that is not part of the cover, but added to the cover? The edition I read of Looking for Alaska by John Green had the round gold seal."

It's on the picture of the book, so I'm inclined to accept it.

message 117: by Candiss (new)

Candiss (tantara) I know the task text for option 5 reads "The whole circle doesn't have to be depicted, but enough so that the circle can be seen," but I got antsy about my choice and wanted to get confirmation that it is acceptable before I try to claim points. (My concern is that in reality the object is a sphere, not a flat circle...but of course on the cover picture it is a circle.)

The Killing Moon (Dreamblood, #1) by N.K. Jemisin

I took the task help language to read if the object itself was circular (like a cake) then the view of it wouldn't matter. But it seems like you just need to see a circle on the cover, regardless of whether it's an object, right? For example, Sweet Valley Confidential Ten Years Later by Francine Pascal isn't an object.

Or, in other words, A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon won't work, even though it's pretty clearly a round wedding cake, but isn't circular when viewed from the side. Right?

Yes, that's right - it needs to be a seeable circle in full or in part, but not an implied one.

I haven't a clue how cookbook work - but as far as I'm concerned your choice is fine as long as it meets the general requirements.
