Hahaha CaroB! I use to tell my class almost the same thing, but I said it this way, "you get what you get and don't pitch a fit." yeah, I rhymed it for my class ;) it's funny cause other teachers say they know which kids have gone through my class cause of the things they say. They'll say that or "snapdragons" when something goes wrong (I couldn't very well say "oh shit!" in a classroom LOL) or they'll say "oh my stars" instead of oh my god or gosh. :)

LOL Susan! I'll have to try and remember "my stars" I get a kick out of hearing the kids parrot me when they think I'm not listening or trying to one-up each other. I have to admit, I got that one from Fraser's kindy teacher :-)

Ladies, I've just joined a twilight netball team here, we'll be playing Wednesday nights, with games scheduled between 6.30 and 8.30 pm. This means some weeks, I wont be getting home to post at my usual time. The weeks that I have a late game scheduled, would it be better if I posted earlier or later? It should only be a couple of hours either way. I'll go with majority votes.I hadn't thought about this when I signed on, so sorry everyone!
Tonight, I'll be posting at the regular time (8.30pm in Queensland, Australia)
CaroB before I look through my books could I use this one Love Comes Silently? I know a partner leaves him and another mc has had his career ended.
The whole road to recovery and then getting sent home from hospital, I'd say that's the end of an era, yep.
Is there any link between Rock Chick and the song? If not I'll probably read Vampires Are Forever or something else. I have to sleep on it, haha
I'm hoping so Carrie, but think there'll be some modifications before then, maybe a way to include team and individual points, still working that out. Why do you ask?
Carrie, I have a team needing a fill in player. Would you be willing to start off with them this week and continue reading for the rest of the game?
ShoSho wrote: "Is there any link between Rock Chick and the song? If not I'll probably read Vampires Are Forever or something else. I have to sleep on it, haha"Yep, I'd take that for the rock/punk link.
Just start from this week :-) Go on over and introduce yourself to the Six Book Girls. Susan is the team captain and she'll catch you up on anything you might need to know :-)

CaroB wrote: "Just start from this week :-) Go on over and introduce yourself to the Six Book Girls. Susan is the team captain and she'll catch you up on anything you might need to know :-)"Will do, thanks :)

Anna wrote: "I was thinking of reading...Summer of Firefly Memories...wondering if it would work."I've read through the synopsis and I'll pay that. It sounds like the main character goes over some memories revisiting an era she'll never get back. (Does it sound like I'm stretching, lol?)
Just a note for the coming weeks: Because we have now had two songs from the 1990's played, the rest of the songs from that decade will now be taken OFF the playlist for this game. They may come back in future rounds, but for now it will mean that possible songs will now be taken from the 60's, 80s, and first decade to 2010. This narrows your song/book choices, but it may also make it easier for you all to plan ahead.
Can I use this:
The heroine(a virgin) is about to take a formal vow of celibacy (an alien planet thing) and of course meets our hero an escaped male sex slave. It's the end of him being alone and on the run and her wanting to be a celibate.
Mary, so at the beginning of this book he is on the run and at the end of the book he's not on the run anymore?I'm going to say ok, mainly because the second sentence: "Males created to be tall, muscled, sexy, and enhanced." has me intrigued ;-)
Well the male former sex slaves are trying to get off the planet that they've been banished to as it's now illegal to um use them. So they are kind of displaced as far as no longer being slaves but not actually being free. The hero was a lab experiment who was supposed to be destroyed but escaped instead. The males are all test tube babies originally bred to be sex slaves. The heroine is conflicted between following the trend towards celibacy and well being horny. Lets just say she is no longer celibate by the time the book ends.
CarolB.........never fear! Underdog is here1. Lol. My stuff will be BOLD later today.. courtesy of Elishia....I just have to copy and paste :)
Hi Teams! I've had guests staying with us since Thursday of last week, and have just gotten onto my computer to update everyone's progress. Could you all please just double-check the Spreadsheet and make sure I haven't missed anything?
Thanks!
OK I know I am crazy but I don't think I'm that crazy yet....didn't I read some where about our weekly songs may get posted early (depending on what the groups wanted) due to CaroB running into "time issues" with her other activities or something to that affect? I am so ready for our new song posting LOL and it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit to have the songs posted EARLY ☺
