I've been having trouble on and off all day. Very annoying, and slightly worrying... I'm a little bit GR addicted.
CaroB wrote: "I've been having trouble on and off all day. Very annoying, and slightly worrying... I'm a little bit GR addicted."This morning I had a panic attack for half an hour I was getting DNS error for GR I thought they had denied access to GR on my network at work. I even tried opening it on my colleague 's computer!!
Apparently, webhosting service GoDaddy was attacked today by some hacker. All websites hosted by them had issues. GR is not hosted completely by GoDaddy but they do some stuff for them. Hence the issues.
GR was down for me too last night and I was having terrible withdrawal. Opened up again this morning and TG it was back!
So glad I missed out on it being down. Goodreads however has not been good for my book collecting addiction. I swear it would take the next 10 years just to catch up on the books I own/want to own. Imagine all those books that come along during that time. I envy people who can finish a book a day.

If I quit adding to my TBR, I'd be set for the rest if my life and I just know I'll want to read stuff that isn't published yet. It's a vicious cycle LOL
It's like that Twilight Zone episode. I swear that one is my favorite. you know the one with the guy that loves to read. A bomb goes off and he is all alone and has all the time in the world to read but his glasses break.
Melissa wrote: "A bomb goes off and he is all alone and has all the time in the world to read but his glasses break."Oh, yes, I remember that one!

As someone who is nearly blind w/o her glasses: I could still read. I would just have to have the book smashed right up to my face.
Mary wrote: "As someone who is nearly blind w/o her glasses: I could still read. I would just have to have the book smashed right up to my face."That's how I read most of the time anyway. The updated version of the show would have him with no way to get books onto his ereader.

Catherine wrote: "hey...I haven't been fixed...I finished last night too! I feel left out! :("I think it is CaroB's time to sleep right now. And yesterday GRs was giving her grief for 5 hours.
hey...I had trouble yesterday too....but others got fixed...see...this is why I hate computers! lol :)
Uh. Catherine, where is your review? I can't find it. Maybe that is the problem. What number post is it?
OMG I was beside myself while it was down! I had no idea how much I depend on Goodreads each day! I felt so out of touch and alone! lol It was like I had lost a lifeline or summin!
Catherine wrote: "hey...I haven't been fixed...I finished last night too! I feel left out! :("Catherine, I'm so sorry. I saw your review, and forgot to update you on the spreadsheet last night when I updated the dance card! All fixed now, wont happen again, I promise.
Just to ask a favour, could everyone please make some part of their reviews BOLD? This will make it so much easier for me to update as I go. If you're a little confused on how this is done, Lisa Kay has posted a great little tutorial for you in Triple Threat's team thread, which I've linked to HERE.
Thanks in advance!
CaroB, for this week's song I'm planning on using
- the main female lead acts an assassin for the Emperor who also is her lover (it was clear in the previous book in the series); she calls herself as Emperor's Blade. Also, a war was just over and there's bound to be refugees though I'm not sure. Will this be ok?
Vi, if the female lead acts an assassin in this (she actually kills someone in this book) then I'd say it's perfect... LOL, wow, had to read back, never thought I'd type those words.
Thanks! I'll go ahead with the book then.LOL, CaroB! I never thought I'd type OR read those words either. Show what I know!

Creeping on other team's threads comes in handy;) team 7 posted the lyrics and after reading them, I'm wondering if I could read a book about a singer/rock star since the song is about someone singing?
Susan (susayq) wrote: "Creeping on other team's threads comes in handy;) team 7 posted the lyrics and after reading them, I'm wondering if I could read a book about a singer/rock star since the song is about someone sing..."Susan, I can't believe I didn't include that! Definitely ok. I know the song was actually written about Don McLean. No problems with a book linking to a singer / rock star. In fact, I'll go amend the Now Playing post to include singers.
Lisa Kay wrote: "Uh. Catherine, where is your review? I can't find it. Maybe that is the problem. What number post is it?"Hey Lisa Kay..it's post 74..btw...I'm sure you've found it by now, though! :)
Ren wrote: "Angel's Blood have serial killer, I second what CaroB said. And that book is UBER AWESOME :)"I'm only 10% into it but am really really enjoying it so far.
ok..question for you/....what on the table that you have so beautifully rendered all our progress...what are the numbers at the top of each group keeping track of? I definitely like all the pretty colours, though! maybe you should add smiley faces too!
Catherine, do you mean the "2 of 3" and "0/3" numbers? For me to update a dance card, each group-member has to:
1. Pick a valid book (one with a definite link to the song, which is also longer than 150 pages)
2. Communicate with their group at least once a week. This is more than just "This week I'll be reading..." or the review.
3. Rate and review that week's book.
When all team members have achieved each of these three things, I keep track so I know when the whole team has a 3/3, i need to update the dance cards. Does that make sense?
