message 51: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) It's OK. I just thought you would want to know about it.

I am sorry to be such a pain.

message 52: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) You are not being a pain! :) I'm glad you let me know!

message 53: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 41 comments Wow, I was super excited to see we had 6 letters this week but wow, now I am feeling overwhelmed, 4 more books in a day and a half. Darn holiday weekend cut into my reading time to much!

message 54: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Just remember, whatever letters are not purchased go back into the draw pile before the next draw so there will be a chance you can purchase them down the road.

message 55: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 41 comments Just out of curiosity how many sets of tiles did we end up playing with?

message 56: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) 3 sets. We originally had more than 12 players but a couple dropped out. I didn't want to redraw everyone's free letters so I just left it alone.

message 57: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) You all have until 6 pm EST (-5 GMT) to post any other letters you would like to purchase!

After that time letter buying will be closed for a couple of hours while I return the unpurchased letters to the draw pile and draw the next round of letters.

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) | 123 comments what time is it where you are now Cherie so I can work out any time difference

message 59: by Skandia (new)

Skandia (sfgirl) Adele, you have until 11pm in UK, I guess

message 60: by Cherie (last edited Sep 07, 2012 05:16AM) (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Adele, you can convert the time here. My time zone is America - New York. I am 5 hours behind the UK. So you have until 11 pm your time. New letters will be posted by 1 am your time.

message 61: by Adele (new)

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) | 123 comments Thanks Skandia and Cherie, I am hoping to have completed 1 or 2 more books by then.

message 62: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) New letters have been posted! All of your individual posts have been updated.

Make sure you read this post for a special surprise this week!

message 63: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 41 comments Cherie, I just want to make sure I understand the notes in post 25 right.

I had a T last week and this week. I started reading Time Untime. I only got 27% into it. I decided to focus on the higher point letters and just didn't have time to finish it, since it is over 400 pages.

So even though I started it last week, if I finish the other 300+ pages this week I can still count it for my T?

message 64: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Yes, Dawn. You can go ahead and finish it for T. :)

message 65: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 41 comments Thanks!!! I had a back up plan but I think I need a rest after 6 books in one week. Combining books will be easier.

message 66: by Chaitra (new)

Chaitra (chaitra_ganesh) | 180 comments Cherie, I had a question. Do we still get double points for A if we claim it but don't make a word this week? No one got an M though!

message 67: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Chaitra, no, you only get double points if you use it in a word this week. Any A's or M's that you already have from previous draws are worth double points in a word this week also.

message 68: by Bree (new)

Bree (coffeebeanbookshelf) Cherie, I've got another question about the double points this week...

I'm planning on reading a book for A, but it will probably come down to the wire for timing (I'll likely finish it Fri afternoon). If I'm able to claim the letter before the cutoff, can I post my word immediately so I don't miss out on the double points, even if you haven't updated my post?

message 69: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Sure Bree. That's fine. :)

message 70: by Adele (new)

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) | 123 comments I am going to try and read a 116 page book to buy one more letter before time is up, do you think I will do it?

message 71: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) I think so because the new letters are going to be late tonight. Hubby is using the computer for some work stuff so I have to wait until he's done. I'm posting this from my Nook but it would take too long to do all of that from here. I hope to have them up in the next two hours but I can't make any promises. Sorry for the delay!

message 72: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 41 comments Would you count A Great and Terrible Beauty as an "A" or a "G"?

I'd really like it to be an A.

message 73: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) sorry, Dawn. No A, An or The. It would be a G

message 74: by Chaitra (new)

Chaitra (chaitra_ganesh) | 180 comments Cherie, do initials count? I read a book by G.A. McKevett. Can I use it to claim G?

message 75: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Yes Chaitra. That would be ok.

message 76: by Chaitra (new)

Chaitra (chaitra_ganesh) | 180 comments Great! Thanks Cherie!

message 77: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I was just wondering how close we were to getting to the end? Whether I should really push to buy another letter this week or not.

message 78: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) There are currently still 115 letters available - not including the ones currently available for purchase. Still have a way to go.

What do you guys think? Do you want to continue playing or should I cut out a set of letters to shorten it a little bit?

Since this is the first time I'm running this I'm open to changes and suggestions!

message 79: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthas48) I'm in last place, but really enjoying the game AND enjoying that I'm getting through some of my books at home! LOL

message 80: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) I'm enjoing it as well, there is just no way to tell from my end where we stand with remaining letters. I figured that since we had 6 this week that that probably put a big dent into the number of letters left. Maybe you could give us a warning when we are getting down to a certain # of letters.

I actually had forgotten that unbought letters go back in the pile.

message 81: by Adele (new)

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) | 123 comments Keep going

message 82: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) I'm glad you ladies are enjoying the game! I can start posting the remaining letters each week when I do the draw. That way you have an idea.

message 83: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) That should help Cherie, thanks.

message 84: by Chaitra (new)

Chaitra (chaitra_ganesh) | 180 comments Cherie, I've drawn a G this week. I have a book - Amitav Ghosh's River of Smoke - I've got about 300 more pages to go. It's a 500+ page book. Can I use it to claim G?

message 85: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (cheriereads) Yes, Chaitra. That's fine. :)

message 86: by Chaitra (new)

Chaitra (chaitra_ganesh) | 180 comments Perfect! Thanks Cherie!

message 87: by Adele (new)

Adele Symonds (adelesymonds) | 123 comments Soo pleased this week is BOGOF week, I have got a bit behind due to illness, school holiday and general life, no reading done at all for a week.
