Not sure if that could be incorporated on here at all as I know that there is the I♡Audio Challenge but that is just a monthly one.
Not really sure on anything to do with the levels etc but something like.
Jan - Dec 2014
Easy Listening 1-25
Medium Madness 25-50
Hardcore hearing hero 50+
I try do all of my read in audio obviously as my name suggests but not sure about anyone else, but there always seems to be quite a few taking part in the audio challenge, what do you think?

Just in case I miss something out and do something wrong lol

Got the idea really from playing Monopoly but how about a scrabble challenge?
So you would have a word .....say... GOODREADS as the first and then you would add your words from that, but you have to spell your words with books?
Does that make sense? Not sure if it would would work or not, getting points etc but if you think it'll work I'll try and sort it out :D

(view spoiler)
Basically you pick the amount of books you want then roll a dice and move along the board. You can pick which world to start so if you don't like Sci-fi you and just stick to the fantasy world or the other way. If you land on a space you don't like it the panic link deduct one book from your total and get random easy choices card like "Read a book from your fav. genre" or "Read a book that starts with S"
I'm still doing some tweaking and making the panic cards. Anyone like this or have any suggestions?["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This is awesome! I can't wait until you get your challenge up and running, because I'll definitely participate. One very, very small observation: angel is spelled wrong on the fantasy circle.

I think it would be interesting as well!

I'm not a massive Sci Fi reader but I would definitely give it a go x

Yep, I put the board together since I was looking for a challenge to give me some direction on my fantasy book reading and couldn't find one. I really liked the pushing borders challenge over at the M/M romance group and wanted to do something like it. I wasn't sure if board games like this were allowed here so I thought I would ask if it was ok.
I'm actually not a big Sci-fi fan either Vicci but I do like Fantasy. I thought this might help me broaden out into Sci-fi but stick to some of the stuff I'm use to as well :)

lol :) I was wondering what a female Arthur was. I was thinking it was a new genre I was not familiar with.

I would have a different style of book for every day, and participants could choose how many books to read a month.
I am new to this group, and don't think I have seen a challenge like this yet, but please let me know if I'm wrong. This is a large task I am taking on with school starting soon, so please let me know as soon as possible if it is possible so I can start getting the January books ready.
Thanks!

Do we already have something like that?

I'm not sure how to host a challenge, so could one of the mods help me? I was thinking of a "Read A Million Pages" Challenge. No timelines, but as you read, you can mark off your countdown every month towards that big target.
Mods - Do we have something like this already?
Anu

I like the idea of starting it at the beginning of the year. Not sure if anyone can finish a million in a year though... can we leave it open ended and people can post how long its taken to complete it.
We could also put in levels like
250,000 pages - Bronze Star
500,000 pages - Silver Star
1,000,000 pages - Gold Star

Awesome.
Should I go ahead and post it? I have a draft in google docs if either of you are interested in checking it out first. I'd happily PM a link.

I have an idea for a yearly challenge. That for every month you read a book that has that month in the title. has it already been done?
To add extra levels one could also add that you for every month read a book written by an author who is born in that month, and that you choose a holiday that takes places in that month and read book related to that holiday. For the holiday-part it could be interesting to see if different parts of the World has different holidays.

I don't know exactly what one is supposed to do as a host, but maybe one can be coached... :)

Hello again :)
I have an idea for a challenge for next year. Since it will be 15 years since the first Harry Potter-movie came out I'm thinking about a HP-challenge. There will be four different parts, one for each of the "houses" and for each of the part one should read 15 books, and people can choose how many of the houses they want to "try out for".
The different parts are one where you should read a book that can be associated with the titles of the HP-book, for instance someone imprisoned for "the Prisoner of Azkaban". To make it to 15 I suggest read two for each title and the last one optional, for extra credit maybe find one that can be associated with as many as possible.
Two parts can be to read books written by authors who have the same first or last name as a character for one and actor for the other. For instance read a Beatrix Potter-book for Harry Potter and a Daniel Defoe for Daniel Radcliffe.
And for the last part I'm working on finding iconic HP-things, and then have people read books that have similar things. For instance "Hogwarts" means one should read a book set in a boarding-school.
I guess it's quite early to start with next years challenges already, but I would like some help with this one, so if anyone's interested, let me know...

Harry Potter should definitely be celebrated. 15 years. Wow!
This is a challenge that I would want to participate in. And I don't think it's too early to plan. After all, the end of the year tends to get busy with the holidays.
I'd be glad to help in any way you need.

Great... Do you know how it usually works with hosting challenges? I've never done it before...
I've got ideas for most of the parts, put I'd gladly accept input. Do you want me to e-mail what I've done so far, or should we do it in a google docs, or do you have any other idea?

Sara, if you want to gather all your ideas for the HP challenge and post it down in The Factory Foremen (Mod Dicussions) thread, we can work through the details there. And I'm sure that the other moderators will help, too.

I want to host my Reporter's Challenge again. Is it okay to post it again for 2017? (If so, how do I get to the challenge page?)
Thanks,
Ellie
Ellie, we'd love for you to host the Reporter's Challenge again. I know lots of people really like it. Will your challenge be the same as this year's or are you making some changes?
The 2017 thread hasn't been created yet. I'm not sure about the other moderators, but I plan on posting my year-long challenges about the second week of December. I'll create the 2017 thread then, if another moderator hasn't already. Can you hold off until then or do you want it sooner?

It's basically the same, except I did make some changes inside the categories (didn't want to do it exactly the same!)
Thanks, Ellie

Great. I'll be sure to send you a message when the thread is created.

I was interested in *possibly* hosting a Diversity Challenge in 2017, but really don't know how to go about it. I have some thoughts on what it would entail, but don't know if it's enough for a challenge... Where do I go from here?

I love the sound of this, Erica! I hope it becomes a challenge. I'm looking forward to it already.
