Found app. Clicked on "Page to install" Then it simply disappeared and when I went to my author page it was not there. I went back and it was not offered as a FB page to install anymore. Where is it? How do I list my books? Help

Where is i..."That happened to me, but when I returned to my author page it was there under the banner (in a big red box) - you may have to click on 'more' to find it if you already have apps on the page.
Once I found it again I was able to click on it and start setting it up... Hope this helps.

If you type Author App in the search box it lists several. The first isAuthor Marketing App with a red sticker that has 'my books' written at the bottom. Click on that follow the two simple instructions and you'll have the app. Simple honest.

Where is it?
Now that's really disappointing. FB won't let me add the author app to my author page. It wants me to add it to my personal page, but my author name has to be on my author page as I use a pen name for legal reasons. I'm stymied.
Can`t you use both names? For example - Frances last name... writing as (and your writing name) Just a thought. I'm sure you can make this work for you.Joan

Hi Joan. I've been advised by a lawyer to distance my true name from my author name as much as feasible, in order to minimise the possibility of defamation suits.
That only makes sense if you're writing a book that defames people you know, Frances. Joan.

No, anyone with a memoir and bad experiences crucial to their story risks this. Somehow the bad guys always get away with it.
You can use your own name in a memoir if the facts are true. This is your story. A person has to prove malice to win any suit against you. Just as Frank McCourt used his own name in Angela's Ashes and Jeannette Walls used hers in The Glass Castle, you can use yours. But if you're more comfortable not using your own name, that's understandable too. good luck!Joan.

Not sure how I did this anymore, but I did manage to get the red Author App onto my facebook fan page. www.facebook.com/authorbenstarling
HiSo confused. I've finally got my GR updates linked to Twitter and FB page and I added the Goodreads app (the big G) but that's disappeared from my timeline, although it's listed under App Settings as an app I use.
I clicked on Author App and get the Add Page Tab message: "You must have permission to add apps to at least one Facebook Page to perform the requested action." clicked on Create A Page - but which kind? Not a business - should I choose "entertainment"?
I wonder if my problem is (apart from having no clue!) is that I've created the wrong kind of page? I don't see the Liked Following Message boxes over my cover photo - or is that just because I'm looking at my own FB page? See what I mean? No clue..
I've tried getting help from FB itself, but found their 'help' less than, well, helpful - or maybe it's just me.
Once I get this sorted then maybe I can get to grips with Likes and Friends (what's the difference and why have both?) on my page and start interacting properly and actual be social on this social media...

This promoting my first book is a daunting task especially for an old geezer like me. Whether or not I ever make a dime or not I still want to share my passion with other authors with an inordinate delusions of grandeur. Is there anyone who can assist me in sharing my delusions with other borderline neurotics masquerading as "normal" people? Life is more fun this way especially when one is older and retired allowing more time to express my streaming creativity.

Looks like a great app. Apparently I can't get it. The only apps I seem to be able to get options for are notes and events. I'm not sure if I have to delete my pages and start from scratch back to zero posts, pics, and zero followers.I liked your page anyway in case you have other good suggestions that I might be able to take advantage of.

What has confused me about setting up my Author Shop on my FB page is that, even though went about it the quicker way of just typing in the ISN No. of each book, those books have NOT shown up when the Shop tab is clicked on, although they do when the Author App tab is clicked. This is very annoying, as surely any potential customer would be more inclined to click on the Shop tab to see my wares, rather than the Author App tab.I changed the Author Page template to Shop, which is supposed to be the best template for an author on FB to promote his books.

I added mine from the Facebook app section. Just do an app search and look for Goodreads, then install on your facebook page.
