Letting the doors close behind them, Jaze frowned. Please let him be here. And let Nik not be. The Institute wouldn't protect them from him. He was a Shadowhunter. That kind of sucked. She walked further in, biting her lip. Where would Jones be if he was here?

((I'm kind of reading the posts above and going, 'DANG, Jaze missed a lot while she was dealing with vampires.'))

((Okie-dokie. And now, we wait! *Elevator music* ))
((Here I am!))Jones peered over the balcony onto the floor below, an eyebrow raised that someone was back after so long. "What's up?" he asked, relaxing onto the banister as he looked down at Jaze, but then glanced at Todd cautiously.
Todd gave a respectful nod to the head of the Institute. "Jones." He said. "It's been awhile. I have news of that rouge Shadowhunter of yours."
"Who hasn't? That's the shame," he said darkly, shaking his head. "So why have you come?"
"Todd was attacked by Nik," Jaze answered, speaking up. "He said that he had the kidnapped Shadowhunter with him." What was her name again? Aly? She looked at the alpha, like she was double checking that she was giving the information right. "That he was somehow controlling her."
Todd nodded a Jaze spoke. "Nik and his warlock partner. They had another shadowhunter with them, obviously controlling her somehow from how much of a fight she was putting up. I don't know what their planning exactly but they took some of my blood and injected into her. It effected her somehow...I don't know how to describe it really."
"Aly? My god," Jones said, looking off worriedly. Her parabati would be distraught, no doubt. "What condition was she in? He gave her werewolf blood? What sort of madman is he? Do you have any more information, he has to be stopped."
Todd shook his head, wishing that he did have more. If it had been one of his packmates he would have been worried as well. "I'm sorry....all I an tell you is that she didn't look that good. I don't know what else they might have done to her."
"Was she under his supernatural control? Did she seem to be doing it on her own free will?" he demanded, still not satisfied. He felt responsible for not having gone out to protect them as he should have.
Jaze didn't say anything, her gaze going back and forth between the two men. She said nothing, just listened silently. She had nothing to say. She hadn't been there, she didn't know what'd happened. So she remained quiet, watching them.
"Like I said a second ago. It looked like she was being controlled and trying to fight against it. I'm sorry I don't know anything else. If I coud have stopped it I would have."
"Alright, you two must be tired. Come on up here, make yourselves at home," he insisted, pausing the interrogation that was making him agitated. He needed to get in touch with some other shadowhunters to help Ryder and Aly.
Todd shook his head. "Thanks anyway but I should be going. I need to get back to the station and heck on my pack. But if any of us see or hear anything of Nik we'll tell you. Good luck."
"Thank you Todd. Good luck out there," he answered, nodding gravely.
"Good luck to you as well." He said, giving a nod before heading off.
"I'll stay. It's warmer in here than it is out there," Jaze answered, watched the Institute's doors close. "Though, I don't think I'll be able to rest." She looked up at Jones and asked, "Is there anything I can do to help out here?"
"I was considering contacting the Clave but am hesitant. Let's see if the situation improves a bit, then we can. I don't know if there's anything you can do to help per se...maybe we could try contacting some other shadowhunters to warn them?" he thought out loud.
Would the situation improve? She didn't think it would. Maybe a little, itty bitty bit, but otherwise.. Yeah, she wasn't going to get optimistic. She'd expect the worse, so if it happened, she could be ready for it, at least partially. "I can help with that, if you want to do it," she volunteered. If they contacted other Shadowhunters, she just hoped that they didn't contact the Clave once they knew what was going on.
"Well, come on up and let's go to the library. If you want some rest or something to eat, don't be afraid to ask for it," he offered with a sigh, indicating she could take the elevator up to the upper floor he was on.
Jaze nodded, then walked to the elevator and took it up to his floor. Finally, something to do that would actually be helpful and didn't involve vampires. She'd had enough of those, lately. They'd kidnapped her friend, bitten her friend, bitten her, and caused many problems that she was not thankful for.
"Oh by the way, do you have any injuries or something you'd like me to attend to?" he also offered, remembering the first aid kit as they passed it on their way to the library.
Injuries? Uhhhh.... Unconsciously letting a hand stray to her neck, she rubbed the skin where she'd been bitten. "I think I'm good." Sure, she'd had to put on a few iratzes, but she was mostly okay. Mostly because of the iratzes. She didn't tell Jones though, not wanting to bother him over something that was probably small.
"Alright. In you go then," he offered, opening the door to the massive library for her. It was a tall affair with a mezzanine and his desk located somewhere among the shelves.
Stepping inside the library, Jaze said a polite 'thank you' to Jones, since he'd held the door open for her. She looked around at the shelves and smiled faintly. The library was one of her, if not her absolute, favorite rooms in the Institute.
"Alright, let's see, what is there to be done..." he wondered, going over to his desk. "Maybe there are accounts we can draw from, some past occurrence of the event. Maybe it will tell us something..."
While he went over to his desk, Jaze took off her glasses and cleaned off the lenses with the bottom of her shirt. They'd gotten to the point where she could barely see out of them and she preferred not being blind. Putting them back on, she frowned slightly. They weren't completely clean, but better than they'd been before. She walked over to stand next to Jones's desk, glancing around at the shelves around them.
((Sorry but I'm sort of running out of inspiration for this scene? Should they find something to help their mission? And they need Aly to make her appearance to get their storyline moving...))
((I guess? What would help.. Gah, my brain is dead. I can't think. And you're right about Aly.))
((well Ally is trapped at Nik's. Ryder can make it back here?))
((*Facepalm* Riiiiight. I'm a dork. I'd been reading that.))
((Sorry! I meant Ryder! I'll bring him back...))Jones was scanning over the documents when he heard a furious pounding on the front door. "Who can that be?" he wondered, getting up and going downstairs quickly.
Jaze looked up from what she'd been doing and frowned, but was also a little curious. She followed Jones out of the library, thinking about who it could have been, but couldn't think of many people.
He went over to the door swiftly and threw the doors open. He then found Ryder, panting hard with raggedy hair and clothes, gazing back at him. "Good god, Ryder!" he exclaimed in disbelief, dragging him into the protection of the Institute.
((Have Jaze and Ryder Rped together yet?))Eyes widening behind her glasses, Jaze stared at the Shadowhunter that had just come in. Well, had been pulled in. She hurried over, glancing one of the windows, but no one else was outside.
((I don't think so but they'd still know each other if they both live at the Institute))
((Should we just have them know each other then? Makes more sense))"Jaze, get the elevator," Jones ordered in a low voice, half hauling and half helping Ryder who was stumbling and exhausted, not able to make out what exactly was happening, but he knew he had made it home.
((Yeah.))Jaze nodded, then quickly went to the elevator and pressed the button. Tonight was turning out to be interesting, that was for sure. When the doors open, she stuck her foot in, so they wouldn't be able to close again until she moved it.
"Ryder, hey, what's wrong?" Jones asked, trying to set him onto his feet in the elevator. "Where's Aly?""She's still at Nik's place...Xavier put a charm on her..." Ryder began to explain, trying to stay alert. "Hey Jaze," he added.
"Hi," Jaze replied, her voice coming out quiet and slightly squeaky. She didn't want to ignore him when he spoke to her, but she also didn't want him to loose his train of thought. She looked at Jones to make sure that he was fully in the elevator before she pressed any more buttons.
"Is she alright? Where is the hideout?" he asked Ryder, trying not to sound too impatient or angry but he wanted answers. Ryder's eyes rolled and then collapsed right onto the floor, his head only protected by Jones's quick reflexes. "Jaze, help me with his feet," he ordered as they approached the floor.
Doing as told, Jaze knelt down and grabbed Ryder's ankles, so she could help carry him to the infirmary. When they reached their floor and the doors opened, she stood, helping Jones pick up the unconscious Shadowhunter.((Two things. A) Sorry for my late reply. /: B) Sorry for my sucky post.))
((It's alright))Jones led them out, walking backwards towards the infirmary where they could lay him down on one of the made cots. "Jaze, get your steele and check if there's any thing wrong with him. Give him the necessary runes. He's got important information we need."
((They're both carrying him, right? With what Jones said, it sounded like he was carrying Ryder, so Jaze could get out her steele..?))
((Oh I meant by "where they could lay him down" is where they put him down. Sorry, you can just put Ryder down on the bed because Jones just did.))
((Okie-dokie.))"Yes, sir," Jaze said as she set Ryder's legs down on the cot. She pulled her steele out of her pant's waistband and started doing as she'd been told, frowning from concern and worry.
((Now, this is where I ask if Ryder does have any thing wrong with him. XD ))
