I don't understand. It's free shipping world-wide, including to the U.S. What could be better?

Finally a date from Amazon! Every time I'd looked it just said that the date wasn't set yet! Woo-hoo!

message 56: by Brandt (last edited Sep 13, 2011 05:22AM) (new)

Brandt Whispers Under Ground by Ben Aaronovitch, # 3 installment in the Peter Grant series... It's an awesome series that really is going somewhere with it's worldbuilding.. It's suppose to come out around march..

Cold Days by Butcher, 14th contribution to the evergrowing saga of Harry Dresden, the coolest man alive ! Don't know any date, but i expect it around next summer.. With Marsters back as narrator, it will be EPIC !! If Dresden was real i would drop out of law school, pack my stuff, and take the first plane to Chicago, where i would pledge my eternal allegiance to Harry Dresden.. Then i would become his apprentice, hook up with Molly Carpenter (which i'm sure is insanely hot !!), and use my awesome powers to save the world whenever it is needed.. (Until finally when Dresden has taught me all he can, i would go darkside, kill the entire winter and summer Court, and take over Faerie..)
But until then, i will wait, very impatiently, for the next book..

I'm also waiting for the last book in Patrick Rothfuss' kingkiller chronicle, The Doors of Stone..
I think that a lot of what Rothfuss have f*cked up in the two previous books, will be forgotten if he does the last one right..
The prose and the world he has nailed pretty brilliantly, but the plot structure and the development of characters is totally flawed..

The book JK Rowling have been talking about writing, Still in the HP-universe, is also something i'm excited about.. It really is a big gamble to risk the legacy of Harry Potter by reopening the universe, but considering how superb JK Rowling have been previously i'm sure it's going to be LEGENDARY !
But, like Rothfuss next book, it will probably be long out in the future before any of us gets to read it..

What is this thing about reopening the HP universe? I thought she was staying away from it and not doing anything else with HP anymore.

message 65: by Martin (last edited Jun 25, 2012 04:01AM) (new)

Martin Belcher (martinbelcher) I've just discovered that at last, Paul Kearney has got his new publishers Solaris to release book 3 of The Sea Beggars trilogy, which started with The Mark of Ran and then continued with This Forsaken Earth which was last published in 2007 and the then publisher which I think was Bantam decided to drop the series before completion! I was very disappointed as it was a great fantasy series based at sea and it was left on a cliffhanger in book two. Doing a Google search it is confirmed Book 3 titled Storm of the Dead is to be released as part of an omnibus release of all three books together in late 2012 published by Solaris. can't wait!!

The Autumn Republic (The Powder Mage, #3) by Brian McClellan Love this series.
Shadow Study (Soulfinders, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Another favorite writer and series.

message 73: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Wylding Hall by Elizabeth Hand -- I just heard about it on the Tor.com Coode Street podcast.

When the young members of a British acid-folk band are compelled by their manager to record their unique music, they hole up at Wylding Hall, an ancient country house with dark secrets. There they create the album that will make their reputation, but at a terrifying cost: Julian Blake, the group’s lead singer, disappears within the mansion and is never seen or heard from again.

Now, years later, the surviving musicians, along with their friends and lovers—including a psychic, a photographer, and the band’s manager—meet with a young documentary filmmaker to tell their own versions of what happened that summer. But whose story is true? And what really happened to Julian Blake?

And I do love me some Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention ...

Thanks for mentioning this; I didn't know a new Peter Grant book was coming out this year!

message 79: by Pinkie_pie (new)

Pinkie_pie I'm looking forward to Queen of Fire Anthony Ryan's Raven's Shadow 3 it comes out in July, it's been a couple of months since I read the first two (accidentally - I avoid reading unfinished series I am so impatient - but when seeing the last book of the series had 5 stars here in goodreads thought it was a completed series, you had to see me when I finished the 2nd and realised there was no 3rd book...)
can't wait!! :)

I really liked Blood Song so much! I finished both books like in a week! I even reread the second one I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!

I've kept notes of things that need discussion and cliffhangers, when you start we can talk about everything :)

message 84: by Tara (new)

Tara (tarabookreads) I'm looking forward to the release of The Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch. I loved the first 3 books and can't wait for this one! It should be out this September.
Another one I'm looking forward to is Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson. I still have to re-read the Alloy of Law before this one comes out in the end of the year.

Evan As far as 2015 books go, I am still looking forward to Queen of Fire, Half a War, The Thorn of Emberlain, and The Dread Wyrm. Tentatively looking at reading the Aeronauts Windlass when it hits.

I will have all the reading to do in Jan 2016 though. The Blood Mirror, Calamity, Morning Star and Spiders War.

message 87: by Blake (new)

Blake Neal (wbneal22) The Doors of Stone by Pat Rothfuss

Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson
Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson
Calamity by Brandon Sanderson
Stormlight #3 by Brandon Sanderson
City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin

Seems to be a real "blank" of "blank" title theme going on here

message 88: by Lára (new)

Lára | 479 comments On my "anticipating" shelf, I have (in no particular order:

The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate
黒執事 Kuroshitsuji XXI
暁のヨナ 18 Akatsuki no Yona 18 (buying the magazine with chapters tho)
Citrus, Vol. 3
Library of Souls
Feverborn
The Thorn of Emberlain

and those are books I want to read, otherwise they wouldn´t be on my shelf. I´m buying them as soon as they come out (if my bookstore would be taking orders)! ~~

Something terrible seems to have happened. I've broken up for the school holidays with a lovely month off work but Brandon has met me down. Yes, Mr Sanderson I'm looking at you. How do I put off writing my essay without my Stormlight part 3? I know I spent last year's holiday reading them. I know he works like a slave to keep me entertained with various books throughout the year BUT something has definitely gone terribly wrong!!

Hang on, is this an alternative reality? Where it wouldn't be too much of a shock to find that Martin has finis... No, I just can't type it.

message 93: by Jaden (new)

Jaden cant wait for the new robin hobb book the be released probably my favourite author because i began reading her works early. Wont read the new series though till all of them are done cant stand waiting

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments Oh...YES!

I've beena little slow on keeping up, though.
Still have to read the first of that series.

Fool's Assassin. ??

I'm not starting it until it's finished! I've not read that soldier set.

Brenda ╰☆╮ (brnda) | 1494 comments I still have to finish the Liveship Traders.
I would think that is more important than Soldier Son Chronicles. I don't think the Fool is in those.

message 98: by Famine (new)

Famine (wolfcreed) Robin Hobb's next installment for her The Fool's Assasin trillgy!

message 99: by Margret (new)

Margret LOL Helen your Sanderson/Martin crisis is making me chuckle. I often have the same dilemma. 2 weeks until the next Throne of Glass book is released and I'm feeling itchy. What's making me feel very restless is that Morning Star (Red Rising #3) isn't released until January and I cannot find a scifi book that will sate my desires.

I find myself needing stories diabolical and lots of twists and turns, gray morals included!

Lol, isn't it annoying. I've not read the red riding books, they are on my list mind.
