CAYLYN HENSON Hello :) I'm caylyn from Florida... Mom of 2 my step daughter who is 6 and daughter who's 3. I've been married since 2005. I am addicted to my iPod touch, diet coke (lol) & reading!! My favorite authors are Richelle mead, Christine feehan & jeaniene Frost. I look forward to getting to know everyone :)

message 207: by Kristie (last edited Dec 31, 2009 07:44PM) (new)

Kristie Hi everyone!

My name is Kristie I'm 25 from Arizona. I am a mom of two crazy but beautiful boys. I have been married for 7 years (Yes I got married right out of high school and no I wasn't pregnant). That always seems to be everyone’s question when I tell them that. When I am not taking care of the boys, my husband, the dog or the house you can find me in my "cave" as my girlfriends call it (really my bedroom) reading or writing. I really read everything but my favorites are UF and PNR. I have also just finished my first novel so I am looking into getting a lit. agent so keep your fingers crossed for me please.

I'm excited to be in a group with lovers of UB. I have tons of friends who love to read but they don't like UB. So I never have anyone to talk to about the books that I am reading or writing.

When I'm not in my cave reading or writing I love a girls night out with a great martini, shopping and we always top it off with a movie.

My favorite authors are Richeele Mead, JR Ward, Kelley Armstrong and my all time fav that isn't UB or PNR is Nicholas Sparks.

I got married at 18, too, and DH and I just celebrated our 35 anniversary 12/27. We never had kids, but I know lots of people who were just waiting to hear that I was pregnant when we got married.

I hope that didn't sound bad. ={ I reread and was sort of nervous that I might offend someone. But I was just lucky to find my partner at a young age. My parents got married a month out of high school and they just celebrated their 28th anniversary I'm the oldest and came two years later. As you, my parents and myself can attest, you are able to find true love at a young age and make it work! Thanks Melodie!!!

Stephanie (can_read) | 15 comments Hi my name is Stephanie and I am a total bookworm! I never used to read at all other than magazines until my sister introduced me to Romance novels. Something about reading about love and action just sucks me right in!! Unfortunatly I don't have any friends on here so if anyone wants to be my friend on here that would be awesome! I just don't feel like I have the full feel of the website without some friends.

message 215: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebecca32) I am going to finally make an effort to keep up on my Goodreads....New Years Resolution I guess!

My Name is Becky. I am just about to turn 30. I live in Michigan. I ahve a husband and 2 little boys. I LOVE to read -Mostly PNR and UF.
I have my Degree in Psychology, but I work as a vampire (I draw blood) at a hospital because the economy/job market stinks here. Besides reading I like skiing, golf, and traveling.

message 216: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Hi Becky, I hope you find it interesting enough here to help yourself keep your resolution :)

message 217: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments Melodie and Kristie, I can't believe people would be rude enough to ask if you were pregnant when you got married--wait, never mind. I can! My dh and I adopted a little girl with blond hair and gray eyes, and I have brown hair/eyes, and people will come up to me when it's just me and her and ask, "Where did she get that blonde hair from?" I always wonder, why does it matter? Fortunately, she looks just like her daddy so it's an easy answer, but still...

Welcome, everyone!

message 219: by Sandra (last edited Jan 08, 2010 06:11PM) (new)

Sandra (sleo) Hi, I'm Sandra and have been reading for over 60 years. My mother bought me some books when I was in first grade and I've been reading ever since. I love PNR and UF, but also love all kinds of good novels. I'm a book addict. In recent years I discovered audiobooks. I used to drive a lot and discovered that listening to them while driving is great. Never take a trip without a good book to listen to. A couple of years ago my kids got me an ipod and last year I discovered Audible.com and have fast become their best customer. I'm currently reading A Rush of Wings in paperback as it's not available in audio form. I'm finding it quite good once I got used to the writing style --

My very favorite paranormal writer is Charlaine Harris. I've also enjoyed the Eve Dallas series by J.D.Robb, and Nora Roberts Circle Trilogy. I also enjoy Kim Harrison

I'm a little picky about my PNR, and enjoy it if there are good characters and an interesting story. I do not enjoy straight romance novels.

message 220: by Tori (new)

Tori (smexys_sidekick) | 6 comments Hi. My name is Tori, I'm a HUGE reader period. I tend to go thru stages. Historical romance, then chick lit,mystery/suspense, now PNR & Urban Fantasy.
Shifters, changelings, vamps, demons...I love them all.
I have so many fav authors. Right now I'm so far ahead in my reading that I figure if I buy all the new books coming out this year by authors I love I'll be about $5000 in debt by Christmas. lol
Trying desperately to find new author that is established so I have a couple of books to read in series before having to wait on them to write a new one.
I tend to like strong heroines and heros. Smex is good but I like good strong plots and lots of butt kicking. :P

message 221: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Hello everyone. My name is Barbara and I read a lot of everything except anything non-fiction...real like sucks why would I want to read about it! I guess my favorite genre is PNR/UF...I really love me some vampires and werewolves. Yummy! I love all the known authors but also like to dabble in the newbies like Melina Morel and Judi Fennell.

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Hello everyone. My name is Lisa. I've been on goodreads for a little under a year and have been a member of only one other group for that time, the Cyber Book Club. I constantly have had this group's name pop up when I've listed books I've read. I finally decided I should just go ahead and join your group and jump into some of your discussions. Last year I read 300 books after not reading for probably over 10 years (I find books addictive as you can probably tell). I like Paranormal and Romances and when the two combine I am one happy reader. One of my new year's resolutions is to update the Goodreads list with all the books I've read. I've got them all listed on a thread in the other group so I know what I'm missing. I like Patricia Briggs, Karen Chance, Sherrilyn Kenyon, J R Ward, Gena Showalter, Charlaine Harris, etc. Hmmmm.... I wonder if that could be why this group's name kept being suggested? LOL I just finished Death's Mistress and nobody from the other group reads her books so that is what has finally made me decide to join this group. Okay, now that I've practically written my own book with this introduction I guess I'll start perusing your discussions.

message 224: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Hi Lisarenee!! I'm glad to hear that our group was of interest to you :) I hope that it helps you find more authors to become addicted to lol.

message 225: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi folks! I'm Dana. I'm learning my way around good reads, I started out with Kindle Smut, moved into Paranormal Romance, and now here I am.

I like to read just about anything in the UF, PR, and romance genres, with some traditional chick lit thrown in.

Particular favorites of mine include: LKH (mostly her early work, although I'm sticking with it) Kim Harrison, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, JR Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Keri Arthur, Jim Butcher (Dresden Files, havent read Codex Alera yet)JD Robb/Nora Roberts, Shannon Drake, Maggie Shayne, and too many more to think of right now.

I hope I fit in here and look forward to talking with you guys.

I can't even count the number of people who ask. IT IS CRAZY! But people are nosy and rude but that's ok. I love proving them wrong. We didn't get married because we were pregnant so even though I was a teen bride and mom we will last. We haven't been stronger!!!

Congratz on your little girl you adopted. Where did you adopt her from?

Also I want to say hi to all the new people! This is a great group.

I love to read! At the moment my favorite author is Richelle Mead (I'm meeting her next week at a book signing). I also like the work of P.C Cast and L.J Smith.

I just ordered a bunch of books on eBay ( Jeaniene Frost, Patricia Briggs and Gena Showalter )I'm excited to start reading them.

Sarah (sarah_anne) | 253 comments Hello! My name is Sarah. I'm a married mother of two and have very little spare time in between work, kids and pets - most of which is spent reading. In fact, I recently ran out of space on my bookshelves. Since I'm a problem-solving kind of girl, I came to the obvious conclusion that I HAD to buy some more bookshelves!! :) Although most of my reading is PNR or UF, I also like a good mystery. I'll read almost anything and my to-read list is ever growing.

It's so much easier to browse threads for new authors/books than my traditional method which involves hours spent browsing the shelves of the local bookstores!

Hi Brianna. This is a public group and doesn't have an age limit, however there are some instances where people may curse or talk about material that may be inappropriate for someone your age. I would suggest to have your parent/guardian look over this group and the site in general.

message 242: by Chelle (new)

Chelle (nwgrrl) | 4 comments Hi!

I'm Michelle - Chelle for short. :)

I'm new to Goodreads, although I'm an addict already! This looks like a really cool group concept; I'm ready to find more authors I like! So far, my favorite PNR writers are:

Karen Marie Moning
Keri Arthur
Charlaine Harris
Richelle Mead

I tend to find a writer or series I like and then read everything I can by them. :) I'm starting on Kimberly Raye and then probably J.R. Ward, since I have already seen so much about the BDB that I am intrigued.

I'm open to any Friending, too! :)

message 243: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments Hi Chelle.. I am the same way with new authors. I discover someone and just read everything I can find and then move on lol.

We have tons of author threads that you can search through to find new authors to obsess over. Hope you enjoy it here :)

Koren | 4 comments Hi! My name is Koren, and I'm new here, just found this site yesterday. I read constantly , and only a few of my friends do. I mainly read fantasy, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and some ya. Like I said most of my friends don't read so, and I live in a painfully small town, so I have very few people to talk books with. Some of my fave authors right now are J R Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs,Ann Bishop, Karen Chance, and to many others to list. I am also slightly OCD . Last year I recorded every book I read , how many pages they were, and how long it took to read them...I am also doing it this year to so I can find my average of pages, days to read the book, and number of books. What can I say I have way to much free time.Anyway just wanted to stop in ,and say hi!

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments Welcome, Koren! Wow, I wouldn't say you're OCD, but definitely organized! I love seeing how invested readers get in their books and authors. I envy you your free time to read. Then again, I write books for a living, which is pretty cool, but still, I'd love to be able to read more. I just read Ilona Andrews' new book, On the Edge. Wasn't it great???

Welcome, Raquel! You'll love it here. I'm fairly new myself to Good Reads. I love seeing what folks think, what they like and don't like.
