Stephanie (sdbick) | 13 comments There is another book I have been looking for for ages and ages. It's a kids' book, and it was about a boy, a girl, and a white dog who could see into the future and communicate through telepathy. They get sent dreams that portray something bad happening in the near future and they have to go and try and stop it. I seem to remember something special about their eyes, but that could be another book I'm remembering.

Stephanie (sdbick) | 13 comments Hmm, that does sound a bit like it. I will have to see if I can find it and read it to see if it is the one I remember.

Out of curiosity, how did you find that? Just by a Google search?

Thank you!

Clare K. R. (clare-dragonfly) | 55 comments I don't think there is a dog or dreams in The Girl with the Silver Eyes. And there are two boys and two girls.

Stephanie (sdbick) | 13 comments Thanks for the additional help, D.M. That title sounds a little bit more like what I remember.

Hi Stephanie,

Are you sure enough about Into the Dream that we should move this to the Solved folder?

message 8: by Stephanie (new) - added it

Stephanie (sdbick) | 13 comments I think I am sure enough to close the topic for now.

bookel | 4022 comments Could it be this book? I'm surprised it hasn't been suggested.

Jagger : The Dog From Elsewhere
by Alexander Key
A great white dog with the power to send and receive thought messages helps two young children escape death.

message 10: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Jagger, the Dog from Elsewhere for the link.
Alexander Key is an under-appreciated author, imo. I wish his work was more readily available.

'possibly solved' is, imo, a good place for this thread

Rachel | 2 comments I'm almost positive that the Alexander Key book is the one mentioned in this post. Also, bookel and Cheryl, I want to thank you SO FREAKING MUCH! That book has been eluding me for years.

bookel | 4022 comments Yay glad you came back and it's solved!

Stephanie is the OP. She thought it was "Into the Dream." We need to wait to hear from her whether it is actually "Jagger, the Dog from Elsewhere."

message 14: by Cheryl (last edited Jun 09, 2014 02:28PM) (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Also note this thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Also note that the author, William Sleator, wrote a lot of books that stick in a lot of readers' minds. SF for children and teens, before SF was mainstream.

message 15: by bookel (new)

bookel | 4022 comments Into the dream has a black dog. Jagger has white. OP didn't sound convinced as in reread book. Sure enough didn't sound solved.

message 16: by Scott (new)

Scott In case this has not been solved yet, could it be Escape to Witch Mountain, also by Key? In the film they have a cat, but maybe in the book it is a dog...

message 17: by bookel (last edited Jun 10, 2014 12:00AM) (new)

bookel | 4022 comments Into the dream would cover the dream aspect but has a black dog from what I recall. Jagger has a white dog, telepathy, boy and girl. I've yet to read it. If the OP could be 100% certain either one that'd be more convincing than sure enough. Cover and reviews of latter on Amazon. I joined specifically to respond to this particular post and it's disappointing the original poster hasn't confirmed either way.

message 18: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Lots of OPs forget about these posts. It has been almost 2 years, after all. I'll see if she accepts PMs.

message 19: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) I sent a PM, with link, asking her to confirm the book, or at least speak to the color of the dog.

message 20: by Stephanie (last edited Aug 09, 2014 10:16PM) (new) - added it

Stephanie (sdbick) | 13 comments It's not the Jagger or Escape book. The dog was definitely not the main character, and Into the Dream is about rescuing a boy, which I'm sure was what the dreams were about.

I looked inside Sleator's book on Amazon and Stardust Motel, Nevada, and the name Paul all sound familiar.

message 21: by bookel (new)

bookel | 4022 comments That's correct, the dog was not the main character. Thanks for coming back and confirming it is INTO THE DREAM by WILLIAM SLEATOR. This thread can now be marked Solved.

message 22: by bookel (new)

bookel | 4022 comments Original poster sent me a message saying they were pretty sure it is Into the Dream. Please mark it solved. This query is finally solved!
