The Notebook
question
What was your First Nicholas Sparks Book

There is a lot of discussions about Fav/Last/Worst NS books i was wondering which was your first and did it switch you on to read more NS books.
Mine was The Notebook and i picked it up at the Airport by chance and read it in one go on my flight in floods of tears. From there i started picking up his books by random and so far have enjoyed the ones i have read.

The Notebook popped my Nicholas Sparks cherry but I keep getting disappointed by the movies. Casting is always good but they always feel like a Lifetime movie, apart from The Notebook because it felt more sprawling like a proper movie. Aside from the fact that every book is pretty much based on the same formula, I still appreciate him.

Mine was A Walk to Remember. And I did cried a river. Promise.
The Wedding for sure..i never thought i would love it as much as i did.
A walk to remember - read on recommendation from a friend. I read almost all other books by Nicholas later. Such was the effect of 'A walk to remember'. But 'A bend in the road' & 'The last song' were the excellent ones.
Message in a bottle. Still my favorite NS book followed by A Walk to remember and the Notebook.
Well this is tough I have read most of the book and watched all the movies

I started with the notebook because I wanted a book from Nicholas, and for my birthday I got the notebook, that's why it was my first. Totally loved it.
A Walk to Remember was the first book of Nicholas sparks that i lay my hands on, and since then i have been hooked to his works.
Message in a Bottle! Read it while waiting to fly red-eye back from Seattle. After getting home at 6:00 am I sat at the kitchen counter and finished the book sobbing like a babe!
The Notebook! The book is so much better than the movie. The movie makes Allie seem like a ditz which I can't stand. But then again, the movie does have Ryan Gosling in it so I guess that makes up for everything. :)
A walk to remember! And I didn't like the book. Thought it was overhyped.
The second was The Notebok and that is one of my all time favorites! :)

My first was A Walk to Remember, which remains my favorite book by Nicholas sparks. I enjoyed the movie, as well, and pull it out when I'm in the mood for a good cry. I also enjoyed The Last Song (movie too) and Dear John, even though I really hated the girl (Savannah?) because I thought she was wishy-washy and self-centered.

The Guardian. I'm not a fan really...I did read dear john too. It was ok, just not my style of book/writing.
Dear John was my first one of his. I've since read The Notebook and I wouldn't think twice about picking up another one of his books! But I think I wouldn't read his books one after the other as they seem too similar. They must be enjoyed and savoured once in a while.
A walk to remember.. sooo many years ago :) then read many of his books :)
The Last Song. It was the first one I bought and $7 at Indigo and it was hardcover! I'm an aspiring author and I always said I want to be like Nicholas Sparks and other authors. I decided to stop saying it and pick that book up. It was a fascinating read and it really pulled me in. I did buy his other books but unfortunately, don't hate me, but the second book of his I read was The Notebook. And I hated it. Simply wasn't for me and hope the movie is better (often if I don't like the book the movie is normally better, like Breaking Dawn) and my sister would get me the movie. Ugh! I love his other books. My favourites are Safe Haven (great movie too!) and The Guardian.
I read " The Notebook" after seeing the movie. As a hospice nurse, I encounter many couples losing a life long partner and the struggle of what to do now after years of being the family caregiver of a loved one with Alzheimer's and what purpose I am to live for.
The notebook, I loved it, though it's not exactly as the book is.. but that's what makes a good adaptation. Really liked it.
At first sight, I'm just gonna say that the last chapters broke me into many many pieces, I think it is one of the saddest endings in Nicholas Sparks books.
A Walk To Remember...First and All time favorite
