The Notebook
question
What was your First Nicholas Sparks Book

There is a lot of discussions about Fav/Last/Worst NS books i was wondering which was your first and did it switch you on to read more NS books.
Mine was The Notebook and i picked it up at the Airport by chance and read it in one go on my flight in floods of tears. From there i started picking up his books by random and so far have enjoyed the ones i have read.

A friend gave me " The Rescue " I have never read such emotional, tear jerking drivel ever. Well, maybe if you count those awful romance novels out there. I have never read one but have heard from friends who have. I guess if you are into Happy ever after fairy tales it was good. What does this tell our future women? Be unrealistic? This is what you can expect? I know women who are unhappy because they can never find a guy like that. Don't put those expectations on a man, cheese and crackers, don't they have it hard enough?
Dear John. Loved it, and then read a few more but stopped when the storylines all started sounding so similar...
My first Nicholas Sparks book was "Message in a Bottle". It was a fantastic story of love and loss.
Message in the Bottle...breaks my heart.
Then The Notebook, A walk to remember...and so on :)
I love how Nicholas Sparks makes you realize the real essence of having a relationship. Especially when he starts to breaks your heart.

I read the Notebook, since my Mom told me it was good. I do not always listen to my Mom and her taste in books, but I did on this one. I then saw four movies adapted from his books. They all have the same type of gut wrenching twist...which I got tired of...and I had only seen the movies. I may read another one of his newer books, someday, but not soon...too much to read in other genres.
I'm a guy, so didn't read anything before "Three Weeks with my Brother". An amazing story, weaving two California 'dudes' touring around the world, and weaving in the inspirations for his books! It was decently written, but added insight into the stories, which compelled me to do more than just watch the movies.

The Notebook of course. And its still my favourite to this day. That story is just too amazing <3 The movie is spectacular too, not gunna lie.
it's A walk to remember. I watch the movie first and I cried. Then I decided to read the book. It's even better than the film <3
The Notebook. I didn't know who he was until I saw the movie and then I had to read the book. I liked having watched the movie first because I had visual images of the young characters while I was reading the story.
My first was The Notebook, and ever since I have picked up an NS book I can find
The Notebook-I've enjoyed several other books by Nicholas Sparks, including Message in a Bottle and Nights in Rodanthe
The Notebook was my first NS book I believe...or a walk to remember..I can't recall which one I read first.
The Notebook!:) I cried a river when I read this book. My grandma was so shocked to see me in the middle of the night crying while holding this book :P
The Notebook. I read it while sitting with my infant son in hospital for RSV. After I finished the book, I went outside to sob without waking the baby. A nurse came by and said, "it's okay, honey, your boy is going to be FINE!" I just nodded and let her hug me because I didn't want to tell her I was crying over the book, not my child! :-D
The Notebook was his best..His later books just got so predictable.
Safe Haven. I'm a little late to the party. My mom raves about Nicholas Sparks and I saw the preview for the movie and picked the book up. It did turn me on to him. I have read 3 since.
I read 'The Notebook' first, then I started 'Dear John'.
A Walk to Remember- Nicholas Sparks is one of my all time favorite authors.
Dear John was my first book, my best friend let me borrow it while I was on a road trip to Florida.
A walk to remember, which is still my favourite drama/romance book!
A walk to remember was my first Sparks book but have read them all and I haven't disliked one yet.
A Walk to Remember was my first but i liked The Notebook more.
I first read "A walk to remember" but then i was so little when i read it & it was a long gap before i read another book of his. Then it was "The Last Song", almost nearing the end of it,my eyes were clouding with tears and the memories of "A walk to remember" came rushing in :)
My first Nicholas Spark book was "A Walk To Remember" I really like his books for the male perspective on romance. I have read practically all of his books since then. So far "Message in a Bottle" is the only movie I've found that closely stayed on track with the book.
A Walk To Remember. I remember crying after I read it, the ending was so emotional. It was the first time I'd cried after reading a book.
