I believe that the book has a tree or a forest on the cover, and it is about two orphans that are siblings. I read the book in elementary school. which was about 6 to 10 years ago. It was a longer book for children's book. I think that it might have had something about a "woods" in the title.

Hi Adam. Your description can fit a lot of books. Can you recall more details that will help us narrow it down?
I am 100 percent sure the kids are siblings, but someone comes and finds them in the woods. For most of the book, I believe they are just traveling through the forest with this person. I think that they might be trying to get to a town, possibly to meet their father, or someone significant to them.
Wow, this could be a lot of books. Um, chapter book or picture book? Do you think it had any connection with the Hansel and Gretel fairy-tale theme? At first I was wondering if you meant Into The Forest but that's not quite right....
It is definitely a chapter book. I unfortunately can't remember much else about the book. I tried using google to find the image of the cover, because I believe that I would recognize it immediately. It could have had that type of theme.
I think that the kids may have gone on some sort of ride with a passerby through the woods, or part of it, on a wagon.
Did the book have any fantasy elements? Was it historical? Any idea when it was set? This doesn't really seem close, although it has orphans, woods, and a wagon in it, but how about Straw Into Gold?
A Walk Out of the World has siblings and woods on the cover, and a quest. They're not orphans, but their family is not mentioned much, esp. at the beginning.
is about four children from a Royalist family, who hide out in the New Forest after Cromwell's forces burn down their family home during the Civil War.
I think I know what book your thinking of but I'm also having trouble remembering the title. The name Ruby comes to mind though.
