Anteaterlove | 2 comments A high or middle school classroom does an experiment. They all draw colored bands (which they wear on their arm) from a paper bag, and that color is their rank. I believe there were three colors. The higher ranked, the more privileges you had. Also, females outranked males. The children may have been allowed to give orders to those below them, making the lowest males the worse thing to be. They begin taking it really seriously outside of class, and really start discriminating against people. The main character is male, and either low or mid ranking. The girl he likes winds up in the highest. The teacher secretly rigged it so the kids who were economically worse off would either get mid or high class, and the privileged kids would get low or mid.

Gerd | 221 comments Sounds like "Die Welle" (Have to look for the english title, and the original story this was based on).

This is what I think you're looking for.
