Hey Nicholas. You might get a better response if you started a thread in the Authors section.
More people will see it there, instead of buried here in our Introduction thread.

After an unillustrious print journalism career in southwestern Pennsylvania, I moved to West Virginia at the age of 32 to pursue a career in technical writing. I spend my free time visiting and hiking at the many state and national parks in the Mountain State, which is also where I develop the concepts for my novels. I plan on producing a trilogy of WV-themed "humorrorotica" and am currently working on a story set in the vicinity of Seneca Rocks. My only regret in life is that my out-of-state secondary school education prohibited me from earning West Virginia's prestigious Golden Horseshoe Award.
Heyas Rich.
"humorrorotica" just sounds all kinds of wrong. But interesting :P

I like pretty much any genre, but I read mostly fantasy/SciFi and YA books. I also love action/adventure books, historical fiction, some paranormal and somee romance too. I joined this group a while ago, just never introduced myself. I started reading the Mistborn series, which I'd never heard of before it was featured here, and it's amazing, so I can't wait to read the other featured books. :)
Heyas Hannah.
I have no clue what that series/book is, but you might get an answer if you posted it in a separate thread in the Members Section.
Also, if I remember correctly, there's a group specifically for finding books. Lessee...here it is:

They might be able to help you as well. :)

I've recently discovered some new sci fi/ fantasy authors, Phyllis Gottlieb, Lester del Rey, Iain Banks. I look forward to seeing what discussions this group has.
p.s. I'm his wife, Jo and I just edited this post because he got his own age wrong and can't spell drama. ;o)

Hiyas Bill(and wife Jo) and Geoffrey

I have read all sorts of sci-fi/fantasy books (still working on my list) and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I have found that as I age my tastes are shifting much more to the sci-fi side of things but I will occasionally toss in some fantasy when it peaks my interest.
My latest author addictions are Peter F. Hamilton and Richard Morgan. (currently in the middle of The Neutronium Alchemist).
Hiyas Xzarf. I keep meaning to grab The Neutronium Alchemist as well, but everytime i hit the bookstore, I completely forget.

not big on talking about myself. i'm 18+, and am finishing a sci-fi/fantasy novel (have posted chapter 1 to my writing) which i'm debating whether to self-publish or go the traditional route.
i live on one of the LDC continents, have mixed parentage and have been adopted by a desert dog.
i'm eclectic with my genres but can't keep away from sci-fi/fantasy.
Hiyas GN.
What's an LDC continent?

sorry, i should have typed it in, was lazy. lesser developed country is the PC term. basically means the general population has a pretty poor standard of living.
hi back to you, too :)
Ahhhh, so 3rd world nation? Gotcha.

i'm not that brave and it was my introductory post....
I've never been one to be PC...too much trouble really. :P

I published my first novel, Grey Skies Ahead, about 2 months ago and am currently engaged in writing my second novel, Humanoids, which is a sci-fi thriller set in the 22nd century.
I'm employed as a Technology Technician in the Sacramento area and am in the process of earning my Computer Science degree. I'm also a freelance journalist and write general aviation articles for Examiner.com.
Thanks for having me and I look forward to hearing from you.

I'm currently a student at a small liberal arts college (Classics/Math double major). I've ben reading fantasy ever since I could read and science fiction almost that long, but I'm new to fandom. The Silmarillion is my favorite book.
I wish I had time to follow along with the books of the month, but I'll have to limit myself to commenting on books that I've already read anyway.
Heyas Silvio, welcome and all that

I'm math with an English/philosophy minor (the philosophy sort of crept in and refused to leave). ^_^ Welcome.

Currently I'm not reading any scifi/f as I'm going through an Indian novelist phase but have recently re-read the Hyperion Cantos (brilliant) and read Peter Hamilton's Void trilogy.

Neat. I'd probably have a philosophy minor if my school had minors.

I'm 19 years old student from Warsaw, Poland. In next year i will have ending-exams and then i will probably go on technic studies.
When I was young my mother allways taked me with her to public library (she reads lot of romantic / cryminal novels:) ), so I started reading books from early child.
Currently I'm fascinated about Harry Harrison sci-fi books, becouse it contains a lot of humour.

I'm a Bangladeshi,was born in '87 & am a medical student.I love reading books & listening to music.
I'm a fan of mainly fantasy, historical, thriller etc.Haven't read that much of sci-fi except some from Isaac Asimov.Hoping to change all that by following with this groups monthly reading from next month onwards.
Heyas Capeone and Rakib, welcome and whatnot

(gasps for breath!).
Check out the January Fantasy poll (remember i said Dr Who, ok!) :D

My name is Allan and I am 40. I am a father of two small boys. I work only on weekends as I look after my boys through the week.
I have always loved the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres. I also help out as a reviewer on the fantasy book review website - http://www.fantasybookreview.co.uk/ - I am down to finish off the Shadows of the Apt series and Alan Campbell's Deepgate trilogy by Christmas for the site.
I am currently reading Revelation Space by fellow Welshman Alastair Reynolds. Good so far.

I just started reading Martin's A Game of Thrones.

Do check out my profile at here. :)

I am a software engineer based out of Atlanta GA. Just finished Way of Kings and the newest WOT book and loved both. I pretty much read everything and look forward to sharing my thoughts on some of the selected reads in the future. This looks like it should be allot of fun.

I am Kriss Perras Running Waters. I have loved science fiction since I was little. I grew up on the original Star Trek when it first came out, because my Dad was a Star Trek fan. We watched each episode. (I am 44 years old). I'm here to see what people are interested in reading.
I currently own the independent story development and film production company Running Waters Productions. I am the previous Publisher and Editor of Malibu Arts Journal and PCH Press (Malibu's daily newspaper) and am a 2002 member of the prestigious American National Honor Society Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges. 300 Nights marks my first novel in a saga of four science fiction books: 300 Nights, Fard Ayn, Exile and Holo. I previously worked for a well-known development firm in Hollywood where I learned the craft of story development, a trade I enjoy and find highly gratifying. So I am a screenwriter, author and director. Plus I love photography. I had the privildge of being a showcased artist on the CMTV Chanel 14 Artists Showcase in my area for photographers. I also love poetry.
Again nice to meet everyone,
Kriss Perras Running Waters

Thanks for the kind reply.

The TV series about the Animorphs was quite good.

I'm Nathalia, born in Brazil and currently residing in Connecticut. Fantasy novels have always been part of my life ever since I first began reading, and has evolved into a form of escapism leading up to my college years. I'm 21-years-old and am pursuing a BA in software programming and animation. Currently my favorite fantasy authors are both James Clemens and Jeaniene Frost, however my favorite novel is a collection of short stories by a plethora of authors called "The Mammoth Book of Fantasy." I joined GR not too long ago in search of groups and people that share a similar taste in novels and look forward to sharing opinions with anyone willing to do so.
I look forward to being active in this group and the chance to meet other members.
