Emma | 3 comments Hi, this is a book I used to love in Primary school, it was mainly pictures which may have looked like a cut out paper kind of style. A little girl puts a coat on (red, i think) and goes walking through some woods & hills. There's snow everywhere, then I think she goes home. Very basic reading level, I just want to see those pictures again! Thanks for any info :)

Miriam | 26 comments Is it possibly Ezra Jack Keats' A Snowy Day? No woods that I remember, and it's a boy, not a girl, but the red coat is there.

Clare K. R. (clare-dragonfly) | 55 comments I am also thinking that it's The Snowy Day. It definitely has the cut-out paper style images and I seem to recall woods, but it might just have been buildings.

Here's the cover: The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats

Beth Marshall | 7 comments The mitten? Not the Jan Brett version, the older edition has a little girl walking in the woods, drops a mitten, various animals make it their home. She wears a red cloak in the older version.

Cheryl (cherylllr) to clarify, I assume you mean:The Mitten: An Old Ukrainian Folktale The Mitten An Old Ukrainian Folktale by Alvin R. Tresselt

I seem to remember an even older one, but I can't find it by briefly searching.

LauraW (lauralynnwalsh) | 370 comments This is less likely, but just a suggestion: A New Coat for Anna (Dragonfly Books) by Harriet Ziefert
