Reading Monsters (Ashes Trilogy, #3) by Ilsa J. Bick as a buddy read, finishing Ashfall (Ashfall, #1) by Mike Mullin , and re-reading The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa so I can then start The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa for a buddy read. ;-P Oh and listening to Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3) by Cassandra Clare on audio which is the ultimate experience. I've read the book but totally recommend it on audio if you can!

I finished my reread of The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa and loved it just as much the second time!

Next I'm going to be reading The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa and can't wait!

Started reading The Human (The Eden Trilogy, #2) by Keary Taylor and loving it so far, also trying to finish Monsters (Ashes Trilogy, #3) by Ilsa J. Bick

Ah, that makes sense. I personally love those plots
( Replay by Ken Grimwood , while not a YA, is another book that did it well), so that didn't bug me.

I read the series not so long ago, maybe a month or less. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed Brenda Pandos other three books, the Mer Tales?

Have you read Chelsea Fine's three books? Avow, Awry, and Anew

I finished The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa and it was so good, although the ending was heartbreaking! 5 star read, though.

message 4870: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've had a 5hr bath and finished Vigilante - Kerry Wilkinson. Had some spelling/grammar mistakes, but all in all a very good thriller. I kinda guessed near the end who was doing it and will be carrying on reading the rest of the series. Now I think I will go back to reading Halfhead - Stuart MacBride.

message 4880: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've finally given up on Halfhead - Stuart MacBride

"I am sorry to say that I have given this as much energy and time as I can, but I still can't get into the storyline. I have no idea the characters are like the way they are. Not sure where the story is going with a prolific serial killer not doing much as it is and why the police officer is just sat in a pub moaning.

Oh well, I do love Stuart MacBride's books. But I really couldn't get my head and teeth into this Sci-fi style book".

Once We Were was a good book overall, although not as good as the first one. It was slow-moving at times, which may have been necessary for the themes the author was going for but still made the book drag a bit. And there were some changes to the worldbuilding that were kind of jarring. (view spoiler) But I'd say it's worth reading. The development of Eva and Addie's relationship, and how both of them react to the greater freedom Eva has now, is handled very well.
