Agreed - it got very repetitive. I also did not like the ending.

Ah, that makes sense. I personally love those plots
(
, while not a YA, is another book that did it well), so that didn't bug me.
Thanks! It's been on my list to read for so long! Now finally I'm getting to it and so far? I like it!

Have you read Chelsea Fine's three books? Avow, Awry, and Anew
I've had a 5hr bath and finished Vigilante - Kerry Wilkinson. Had some spelling/grammar mistakes, but all in all a very good thriller. I kinda guessed near the end who was doing it and will be carrying on reading the rest of the series. Now I think I will go back to reading Halfhead - Stuart MacBride.
After finishing A Monster Calls, I was reluctant to jump onto another book, but decided to read one of A.S. King's :

I just finished
and so I now just started the sequel
. I'm also reading
but I'm finding it just really uninteresting. Which is a shame because I loved the first one.

I've finally given up on Halfhead - Stuart MacBride"I am sorry to say that I have given this as much energy and time as I can, but I still can't get into the storyline. I have no idea the characters are like the way they are. Not sure where the story is going with a prolific serial killer not doing much as it is and why the police officer is just sat in a pub moaning.
Oh well, I do love Stuart MacBride's books. But I really couldn't get my head and teeth into this Sci-fi style book".

I haven't read those books. Are they any good? I'll check them out.
David--Tessa finished the 2nd Nikki Powergloves book yesterday, and she wanted me to tell you she loved it! :) She's now starting the third one.

I am in the middle of Shadow Soldier from The Shadow Saga by J. L. Lyon, it is an amazing read. By page 5 I was hooked and so far it has not disappointed. It is keeping me up at night, trying to finish. A great read.

Once We Were was a good book overall, although not as good as the first one. It was slow-moving at times, which may have been necessary for the themes the author was going for but still made the book drag a bit. And there were some changes to the worldbuilding that were kind of jarring. (view spoiler) But I'd say it's worth reading. The development of Eva and Addie's relationship, and how both of them react to the greater freedom Eva has now, is handled very well.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
