Are they? I would've thought the actualy novel was better...then again, I didn't read the novellas first, like I should have.

I thought they were MUCH better. Yeah, it's very weird! The plots for the novellas were just more interesting. I was lucky to read them first but then they made me not like the novel as much because it didn't continue the story the way I'd hoped.

Oh, I hope it's not the other way around for me, then. I really want to like the Novellas as well. By the way, do they have new covers on amazon? I definately liked the old ones better.

I liked the novellas but couldn't get into the book itself. I didn't like who she became.

Yeah, and the covers were unique and different from the origional book, that's why I liked them!! And I can't wait for Crown of Midnight, but now that you've said this...I think I might wait for the second book before starting the novellas.

I've got the ebook on hold at my library, I think its ready now! I already have so much to read though!!!

Finished Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura, #3) by Jonathan Maberry and it was really good, I can't wait for the next book! ALso finsihed The Runaway King (The Ascendance Trilogy, #2) by Jennifer A. Nielsen also good--the author is good at pulling things out of a hat! I can't wait for the final book in the trilogy!

Next up is I think Mystic (Soul Seekers, #3) by Alyson Noel and Night School (Night School, #1) by C.J. Daugherty for a buddy read.

I'm only about 50 pages into it (it's only about 260 total). So far it's fine. My friend wanted me to read it, she said it was great. I'm sure I'll like it. It's a rare book of his I don't like these days.

I like his early books the best and kind of lost interest in the mid to late 90's but his recent works have been amazing! I especially liked Duma Key, Under the Dome and 11/22/63.

message 3525: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) When I was young I had a hard time getting into his books because I found them dry. I read only Pet Sematary, and couldn't get through others I tried. As an older 19-20 year old I read The Green Mile and liked that one, but still had a stigma that he was too dry for me. It wasn't until my close friend started pushing me to read more of his books within the last 3 or so years that I've realized my tastes have grown into him.

Honestly, I have no idea which ones I've read that have been older vs newer, hahaha. I've read Under the Dome, 11/22/63, and now I'm reading Joyland and I know those 3 are newer writings. But I've also read Eyes of the Dragon, IT (my favorite so far), The Talisman, The Long Walk... and of course Pet Sematary and The Green Mile, lol. I'm not sure when those were all written, just that I liked all of them.

You might like it more than I did! Saba makes some really bad decisions that I thought were out of character for her and just plain weird. That was my main reason for not liking it as much. But it's still probably worth a try!

message 3529: by Renuka (new)

Renuka | 12 comments I read BRR and I loved Saba's tough personality. I hope she doesn't become too unlike herself! I'm finishing up the Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken, it's actually really intense!

Hmm you might not like the second book as much for the same reason as me. I felt everything I loved about Saba disappeared.

I have a bunch of books on my book shelf (as always) but I'm going to read a beach read or two

And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini just came in at my library and The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen has been staring me down since I bought it.

I also have a bunch of first books of series on my shelf but I have time to choose which one I will start next =)
