Bee (justabluebee) Reading The Prelude by KaSonndra Leigh .

After that I think I'm re-reading The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1) by J.A. Redmerski . Wanted to for a while now. Anyone wants to join me?

Started reading Nobody by Jennifer Lynn Barnes today, and almost done with it! So good! Its sort of a paranormal dystopian.

Yeaahhhhhrrrrrrggghhhh! Dang! Dangdangdang! I had one credit from Audible that I was deliberating on - Boundless or Unravel Me. So I used it on Boundless . HOWEVER . . . it is only Tuesday. So I'll finish up Boundless and get Unravel Me. I don't feel too badly about supporting T. Mafi . . . lol

message 2359: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments Jen, did you do Shatter Me on audio? I had to DNF the audio version because of the strikethroughs. They made it confusing to listen to. Unravel Me has far less strikethroughs than Shatter Me, but they're still there.

message 2360: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenwesner) | 1222 comments OK I'd just like to say right here and now that Audible.com is fabulous. I got a book awhile ago that I never read - was able to return it, and got Unravel Me to start a buddy read for this weekend! Woo-hoo! Currently finishing up Obsidian, hopefully starting Boundless and finishing by Friday. So many books, so much drive time . . . makes it nice!

The drive to and from work in Nashville traffic is what got me to listening to audiobooks. Loved not being all worked up and frustrated when I got to work.

I did. I kind of liked the strikethroughs, once I figured out what was going on. Of course, that took awhile (duh!) -- I think I heard a preview of Unravel Me on Audible, and it still had them. But it's ok. The thing that annoyed me the most about Shatter Me on audio was that Kate Simses tends to whisper Juliette's voice. Very irritating; I kept wanting to say "what? what? Speak up!" Once you get to be an audio addict like me, you start to get really picky about your narrators --

message 2363: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments lol I've only done a handful of audiobooks, but I've already found narrators that I didn't really like. I had to DNF the audio of Anna Dressed in Blood because the narrator did a horrible valley-girl voice for the female lead. Also, the narrator for Twilight bugs me, and the narrator of The Host sounded like a robot near the beginning. Either I'm getting used to her, or it was only at the beginning of the book.

OHHH, it wasn't just me! Anna Dressed in Blood was the second audio I had listened to and I thought it was awful (the narrator) and almost stopped listening to audios because of it. I kept at it though and listened to Heidi telling me that good narrator's really make a book. So glad I stuck with it!

You should definitely hang in there with Kate Reading (great name for a narrator). She is just wonderful. I think one of the reasons I liked the book so much was because of her.

Yes! That was my first audio book ever, and it was SO bad! Luckily, the narrators for the Soul Screamers and Bloodlines series were wonderful and restored my faith in audios!

message 2371: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments Jen, I am. It's slow-going because it's a reread, but I've either gotten used to it, or it's gotten better. But the beginning definitely sounded robotic to me, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to make it through!

Isabel, I'm jealous! I want to read that so bad! Can't wait to see what you think!

message 2372: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2372 comments I very much disliked the Host on audiobook and gave up on it- the narrator was too old for the character IMO.

Karen I am so glad you didn't give up on the audiobooks :)

message 2373: by DeAnna (new)

DeAnna (dee84812) | 671 comments Heidi, I can see that. The narrator is too old for Melanie, but as Wanderer is such an old soul, I think it fits. Now, the narrator of the Twilight series? I think she was too old for the character.

message 2374: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 2372 comments They needed a narrator who can change her voice from young to old - there are several out there. I know a lot of people love Kate as a narrator for other books so I think she was just not the right fit for me with that book. I am also not a S Meyer fan so that didn't help but I really did try to give it a go.

Finished Strands of Bronze and Gold (Strands of Bronze and Gold, #1) by Jane Nickerson today and it was all right, I gave it 3.5 stars. The end was really good, and it was creepy, but it just took awhile to get there.

Planning on finishing Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand tonight, then next up is Deadly Little Lessons (Touch, #5) by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Me too, Heidi! I'm listening to The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) by Stieg Larsson and this older English narrator isn't really pulling off Lisbeth's voice! I cringe everytime. It's almost funny. He does great with everything else though!

I'm reading The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) by Stieg Larsson too! I'm really loving it. How do you like it...besides the voice making you cringe for Lisbeth? LOL...I've never actually listened to a book before. Not sure how I would feel about it. I will have to try it something. What do you listen on?

I've also listened to CD's, i pod, smartphone, Nook, anything that plays the file that's near me. I download from my elibrary mostly and listen on my iphone or Nook the most. I just learned to download to iTunes then to my i phone, so can listen now on my car stereo! Thanks to Jen for that trick! Heidi and Jen seem to be audio queens though and I just started last summer!
