I agree, I felt the ending was really rushed...but overall I liked it!

I agree that it was a little rushed, but moreso, I was Team "Other Guy", so I didn't love the way it ended.

How is Daynight, Karen?

It started out a little rocky for me, but its getting good now that we are in the middle of the games! The thing that is bothering me with this book is all the terminology--none of its very original. But the story itself is good!

I am in the middle of
which is written so smoothly and is so real for me I cannot put it down. It is fiction but feels like a true story of a young English man in love with a young Jewish woman in 1924-1941 and beyond. They live on one of the channel islands and the Nazis come. They heard they were coming and all of the family and friends who loved Rebecca were insisting she leave to go to Britain where she would be safer but she would not leave. For me the writing is what makes the book move...I mean the style of writing. Many books I cannot proceed with because the writing style is stilted or just does not move the story forward. This book is excellent and I did not expect it to be, since the author is from Ireland and young (I guess Ireland was closer to the Holocaust than we in the US were....although my dad fought in WWII and told me of freeing the concentration camp survivors). I don't know how this story came to him but it is amazing and although I got
from the library yesterday and did start it, I cannot leave this book Finding Rebecca to read that one so will finish this one first. Yes, folks, I actually got a real live (and this one truly lives) book at the library because I thought, Why pay $10 for a book for my Kindle when I can get it from the library? Indeed. I also got it in audio form and also got
as an audio book. So I am set for a while.

I'm only 10% in so far. Haven't had much reading time the last couple of days with my 13 hour work days. :( But the first 10% is good! hahahah....

Has just finished Bad Blood: A Vampire Thriller - J.R. Rain Was a great book by 3 different authors who I have never read before. Will definitely keep an eye out for the next in the series if they do any more. Now I am going to read Devil's Waltz - Jonathan Kellerman which I need to read to get the series read to catch up with the publishers lol.
Gave up on
. It was just too slow and I didn't care enough about any of the characters to put up with that. Now reading:
Easy by Tammara Webber and I am at a loss for words. Can't believe I took the time away from it to post this! :)

I wish I could wipe my memory and go back and read it again for the first time. But I will tell you that it is just as phenomenal the second time around. And the third :)
Finished Night Circus, loved it! Finished Finnikin of the Rock, mostly loved it!

LOL! As much as I tried not to, I got bogged down quite a bit in the plot complexities and backstory, but I do appreciate how detailed and magnificent a job she did in pulling everything together, and from what I hear, the rest of the series only improves on that further. I was also not a fan of (view spoiler) But other than those things, I loved it and pretty much LOVED all the main characters, especially Froi, who I hear plays a starring role in the sequel :) Thanks for the recommendation, you are on point as usual, Heidi!

Lol why thank you Heidi :)
And thanks Bethany, that helps a little, at least I know she's got a reason for it (not that I'm too surprised, she's really into the details!). I definitely want to read the next one though!
