Ashley Marie I just finished the Jasper Dent trilogy and OMG. Phenomenal and messed up and incredibly written.

Now onward to Mercy Thompson #2!

@Brigid, I LOVED Unwholly!

I'm shocked!! I thought you would have devoured it already. :) It was a good book (albeit a bit long, in my opinion).

Brigid ✩ | 738 comments @Elora - Yes, UnWholly is fantastic! I was re-reading the first two books because I still haven't gotten around to finishing the series, but I wanted to refresh my memory first. Can't wait to read books 3 and 4!

Donna (BookDragonGirl) (bookdragongirl) I'm reading Unwind for the first time, right now! Y'all are getting me so excited about the series!!!

message 16855: by Heather (new)

Heather (hersecretsmile) | 290 comments I binge read The Captive Prince trilogy (Captive Prince, Prince's Gambit, Kings Rising) over the weekend and overall the series was fantastic. King's Rising was my favorite.

I hope you enjoy Blood Bound, Ashley. Iron Kissed, the third book, is one of my favorite books in the series, so I hope you make it that far.!

Too many books, not enough time! I'm behind on so many books that have released lately!

I haven't seen the book hit our library shelves yet, so I'm sure there's still a long wait at my library too! I was really glad I pre-ordered it. The only book I'm missing in the series is Scarlet.

@Catherine - That's why it took me so long to get around to reading Winter––I requested it from the library, but it had like 800 holds on it! It took like three months before I finally got it, haha. Also I love the Gemma Doyle books, hope you're liking those!

Ashley Marie I'm reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs The Blade Itself (The First Law, #1) by Joe Abercrombie

Heart-Shaped Box is on the back burner for the moment, at least until I can get through Lord of the Flies. And I might switch over to audio with the Blade Itself once Mercy is finished.

Led Astray The Best of Kelley Armstrong by Kelley Armstrong Led Astray: The Best of Kelley Armstrong Another AMAZING job by Kelley Armstrong. She does not rank in my top all-time favorites for nothing. I love the short snippets into her dark and twisted mind. I really hope to see more of these stories developed in the future, if I could only pick one, it would have to be the first story about the Rakshasi. I want a WHOLE series on "Amrita" and her kind, how fascinating. Loved Nick's brothel problems and anything that returned to Cainsville and the Otherworld. The most disturbing stories were the one were The Screams of Dragons and Suffer the Children, my goodness. I love her and hope she never stops writing, because I will never stop reading. If you love anything about Kelley Armstrong or any book she has ever written, I highly suggest checking this one out, it's good for a long it down or a moment or two to check out a story or two at a time. High re-readability. Well done once again. Easy 5 stars

Refining Felicity (The School for Manners, #1) by Marion Chesney Refining Felicity This book was a delightful random pick from my local library. It was light it was fun, and it was hilarious. In the book the Tribble sisters, Effy & Amy must teach Felicity (19) about the manners of being a lady. It appears her father wanted a son and got stuck with her instead and now she has become too crude to attract a suitor of any standing. With the help of the older (30) Lord Ravenswood, The Tribble sisters are able to pretend at wealth and do their bet to turn Felicity into a proper lady. The writing is witty and entertaining. If you want a nice light read this is perfect fro the occasion. 5 stars

Only the Stones Survive by Morgan Llywelyn Only the Stones Survive genuinely stuck at a 3.5. the intro, the world building, the descriptions are immaculate. the story is disjointed and slow and falls flat for me. the ending left me feeling disappointed, like I kept reading for this. this one was a much slower finish as it was hard to get into the flow of reading it. I get that it was supposed to be philosophical, but it brought up all kinds of ideas and then just dropped them without development. great thought, but delivery needs more work, 3.5 stars

Lacy Eye by Jessica Treadway Lacy Eye was a 4 star read for me. It could have been less predictable, but it still had great suspense. I don't want to post any spoilers, it was definitely worth the read though. 4 stars

Also finished My French Whore by Gene Wilder My French Whore This book had a very strange tone to it, I'm not sure whether I liked it or not. I left it feeling strange and like I would never get the time back. I'm stuck right in the middle at 3 stars

Before Six of Crows, I read Liv, Forever by Amy Talkington which was a quick, fun read.

Finally fnished Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer last night, and I LOVED it!!! Everything that was great about the series (great action sequences, quirky humor, amazing, life-like characters, and just a fab concept with the retelling mixed with Sci-Fi) all came together here, and I LOVED the ride!!

Next I'm reading Stars Above (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer (can't get enough of these characters!) and Wendy Darling Stars by Colleen Oakes

My only complaint was for me the terminology was hard to keep track of. I kind of wanted a glossary. But other than that it was fantastic! :)
