3rd favorite Potter book for me(Behind HBP and POA), but it seems to be most people's favorite and to me it definitely marks a turning point for the series that took it from :) to :O!

Y'know I wasn't the biggest fan of Cinder, story was great, but the slow startup had me dropping the series. It was good though, I just couldn't fall in love with the universe. But those covers are awesome.

I honestly think that's a fair criticism. The book wasn't without faults and I even found it very predictable. I loved the character and universe enough that it was still a 5-star for me, so if the universe didn't do it for you, I can completely understand your distaste.

I read cinder summer 2013, I liked it but was iffy about it at times. then I read scarlett and cress in february this year and after readng both I fell in love with the seres.
I geuss the series is one of those that has to be looked at as sereies, not books that are a part of the series.
meaning the books could have been better but as a seres its great. at least thats what I think.

The story was quite good, but I just have a hard time reading a series seeing each book as just the next step. I have to enjoy THAT story as it's own, I did enjoy the story, but I just don't think it's for me...

And that's coming from someone who loves the Cinderella story in general. But for me, I just couldn't get into it. But kudos to those who do enjoy it. I just don't see myself reading it again anytime soon.

Rose (The_Calm_Reader) (roselittlebookowl75) | 1372 comments Ummmm.....I think I'm reading too many books at once....shocker! I am currently reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin & very close to finishing that one, reading The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski for a buddy read with @Jenny & @Karen and LOVING this book! I'm also reading The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty for a work book club book and at page 110 about ready to nix it...just don't read it.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I'm quite a way through book 11 of the Wheel Of Time series, so I'll hopefully have this series read by Christmas.

Then I have some books lined up that I promised to read and review, followed by Slip and Grip, and then a couple more I promised to read and review; 1 is an R&R book from this group (which I'm going to be a bit late with the review for, I'm afraid) and the others I promised to read and review were direct requests from the authors due to my having read and reviewed books of theirs in the past.
